Could have been better

Sail Date: February 19, 2011

Reviewed: 5 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Balcony

the ship needs a serious makeover. Its very dark and gloomy. Even though it was build recently, it looks like a 20 year old ship. Everything is brown. Need more bright colors, more glamore. The private island is also having construction and there were no were to get chairs. Had pay for everything on the ship, Wii, Bowling, restaurants, charged for trips 3x more (did the same trips for a lot less).

Pros: Everyone was nice and helpful

Cons: standing on long lines, bowling, getting water, food, and decore.

Recommends Norwegian Gem? No.

Food and Dining
Food was very average. Avocado horrible.
Children's Programs
Needs a makeover! There was nothing there. Had to stand on long lines just to get in. Employers did their best!
Ship Quality
The decore is very dark and gloomy.
Cabin / Stateroom
I liked the layout. The bathroom was nice. Once again everything was brown.
Service and Staff
Entertainment
The singers and musicians are talented. Some of the entertainment OMG. It would have been nice to have a kids contest since there were so many kids.
Port Canaveral, Florida
There is nothing there!!!!
Nassau, Bahamas
Got our own taxi and daily trip at Atlantis and that was AMAZING!! The port we passed by and there isnt much there.
Don't Miss: ATLANTIS
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
They were doing construction and no seats available. The water was very nice and beautiful. Thank goodness the food was free...
Don't Miss: water
