Ship was very clean, our 11th floor suite was quite "roomy,"
and had a fairly large bathroom with a shower AND a full size
tub. The service aboard this boat was the best of any cruise
ship we've ever been on. The food was very good quality, with
good variety, and always served hot and almost always with a
smile. In fact, I tipped some of the staff above and beyond
the service charge. This is something I've never done before.
A common complaint aboard this ship was that there was a lot of "nickle and Diming" being done by the cruise line. For
example, the behind the scenes tours that are given by other
cruise lines for free, were priced at 55 dollars a person.
Yes, 55 dollars! I thought this was outrageous, and told them so. However, overall we had a great time on the GEM, and we would certainly like to cruise with Norwegian again, if the price is right.

Pros: Very respectful service and attitude by the ships crew.

Cons: Too many "extra charge" restaurants and too few no charge dinning areas.
