Nice Ship Overcrowded

Sail Date: December 22, 2007

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Balcony

The ship itself I have no qualms- but wait times for elevators was multiple minutes each time, travelling with an older person made it difficult and frustrating-

Pros: Freestyle format

Cons: NCL overbooked - Too many people - wait times were unacceptable

Recommends Norwegian Gem? Yes!

Ship Quality
NCL crew did a great job with upkeep - however the ship was overcrowded
Food and Dining
Food was good could not book specialty dining due to overpopulated and overcrowded conditions was travellling with a gluten allergy person in my party and NCL crew did a great job of providing gluten free food
Cabin / Stateroom
Our room attendant did a great job
Service and Staff
THis cruise would have been terrible if the staff was not so good to be able to accomodate the overpopulated condition of the ship
Port Canaveral, Florida
Nothing to see
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Wait time for the day cumulatively for the tender to shuttle was in excess of an hour- Unacceptable. The island was OK hard to enjoy with so many people
Nassau, Bahamas
Straw market disappointing - nothing to really see
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
Beach was nice- the stopover was too short
