Review summary

We had a very nice, relaxing time aboard the Escape. Enjoyed the Five O'clock Somewhere Bar a lot due to the terrific, friendly bartenders. They even put on a little show for all of us on the last night. Overall, the crew was very helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend the Escape.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Some of the specialty restaurants are better than others. Buffets were always good. Savor and Taste Dining Rooms are decorated very nicely and you can enjoy a nice, quiet, relaxing dinner there.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The Pool area is a disaster (and crew will agree with you). Too small and extremely overcrowded. Too many people putting their towels down on chairs and leaving them. This was about the only real negative about this ship.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Overall the shows, jugglers, comedians, etc. were very entertaining.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The room steward was amazingly good. Always had a made up bed and fresh towels to come back to. Waiters and Bartenders were also very nice. In general, all of the ship's personnel were very engaging and friendly. Although they work very hard, always would give you a smile.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Everything was well-maintained. Major negative in design is the pool area. It is wall to wall people, especially on sea days. You can't get near the area. I was surprised only two banks of elevators for such a large ship, but it seemed to accommodate everyone ok.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The room is a little bigger than most balcony cabins; however, the bathroom is awesome. It has trough-like sinks which two people can use at the same time. And the Shower was Great. Six jets at one time if you like. Very refreshing and relaxing. You actually enjoy taking a shower on the ship because it is so large.

Ship tip

In general a very nice ship. Easy to navigate around. Nice crew with lots to see and do. Just beware of the pool if that is your main goal.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida Did not visit port

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
We had been to St. Thomas before so this time we took a ferry over to St. John's and did an excursion showing us the beautiful beaches and island. It was absolutely breathtaking to view this island.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
In Tortola, we took an excursion to one of their beaches and enjoyed the beautiful waters and scenery. This beach was equipped with chairs and umbrellas which was great.

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
Nassau seems to have improved a bit. We merely had some lunch and shopped at the straw market, which is an experience in itself.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Disembarkation was Fabulous. I think we were off the ship, got our luggage and went through customs in a matter of 10 - 15 minutes. You felt like you were the only one getting off the ship. Don't know how they do it, but it was Great.

So the 'nice little show' was the reason you had no ones to tip people on your return trip home? (lol)
