Review summary

Great cruise. Great itinerary. Great price. Smooth and comfortable sailing. No real problems. However- NCL is NOT my favorite cruise line and this would not be my favorite ship by far. But for this cruise- it worked well and we enjoyed it. No real problems- some minor downsides, but overall, great cruise.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Got there at 2- very easy- no lines at all

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Very good food- not as crowded at buffets as I expected- sometime a wait to get into restaurants

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Not a lot of activities. Big slide is fun- but after a few times... Pools are TINY! Can't really swim. Rock wall is decent. Fitness center good, but can get crowded. Played bridge also. Did some trivia and ship games.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Mostly good, some no so... The top shows- Priscilla and Burn were great- Get reservations before you leave though! Can be hard to get in. Large show room can get crowded and could not get into one show we wanted to see- the magician. Small comedy club room is sometimes very hard to get into.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Usual good staff. All very friendly. Washy, Washy! Happy, Happy! -- if you go on the Epic, you will get this joke- there is a lady at the buffet saying that All Day! Kind of an iconic Epic ship joke.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
All of ship was clean and pretty well maintained. Most of the ship is well designed. Do NOT like the rear elevator only goes to 6- to get to main floor services, atrium, etc, you have to walk back toward mid and go down an escalator in the casino. Yes, I know they want us to gamble, but don't like being forced to go through casino. Other option is forward elevator and direct to 5.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
I thought it was nice, well kept, stylish, with lots of storage. However- lots of downsides. Sink in main part of room. Toilet and shower have doors to close, but feel kind of open- there is also a curtain to can pull to close off that area, but also closes off the front door. Walking space is very limited- can't walk by someone in most parts of the cabin- hard to get around. This is a connecting room, so door to next cabin means you lose about 2 feet of closet space-

Ship tip

Relax, enjoy it. Don't let the small issues ruin a great trip- overall it is a great ship!

Disembarkation

Very easy- but we chose the do-it-yourself option- carried our own luggage and so we could go any time.
