The cruise overall was OK, the food and service was not.

We decided to sail on Norwegian after a couple of cruises with Carnival. We expected an overall upgrade due to the higher price. We did enjoy the entertainment on Norwegian. It would have been even better if they had not cancelled the Blue Man group the week before we sailed. They did not see fit to replace it with any other headliner. We paid $49 extra per person for the Cirque Dreams and Dinner show and it was worth it. The food quality was a 6 out of 10 and the service was 3 out of 10. Half of the waiters were OK, and half acted like they despised you and their jobs. Plus, the bartenders were either rude or ignored you most of the time. I think Norwegian is trying to push their upgraded dining choices by making the standard option undesirable. We got much better food and service on Carnival. The rooms were also hard to navigate. Our balcony was great, but very hard to get to because of the bed placement (you only had 12 inches of clearance between the bed and the dresser). The ship is nice and big, but most of the extra room is space for shopping and the casino. We will probably go with Royal Caribbean or Disney next time.

Ship Quality
Very Nice Ship - Big, but most of the increased size is for the casino and shopping.
Food and Dining
Very average to below average. Not much variety unless you wanted to pay $40 a person more.
Service and Staff
Wait staff needs to be trained. They either ignored you or acted put out by your request.
Cirque Dreams and Dinner was awesome. The rest of the shows were just OK.
Children's Programs
Kids programs were OK. Our boys enjoyed most of them.
Onboard Activities
Just OK. Nothing spectacular. A lot like Carnival.
Destinations and Excursions
Jamaica was nice. Grand Cayman was very nice. Cozumel was not nice.
Cabin / Stateroom
Hard to navigate.
Miami, Florida
Ocho Rios, Jamaica
Climb Dunn River Falls.
George Town, Grand Cayman
Turtle Farm. Sting Rays.
Cozumel, Mexico
Be careful. The locals make their living cheating tourist.

If you are choosing this ship for its size, be advised that most of the extra space is used for shopping and a very big casino. Be advised that Norwegian has gone with the strategy of charging extra for good food. You will not get anything great in the free restaurants.
