NCL Epic "FREESTYLE" means wait in line.

Sail Date: October 20, 2013

Reviewed: 3 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

Please remember that the worst cruise is better than no cruise.  We sailed on the NCL Epic which has "FREE STYLE"  Free style to us experienced on this cruise means waiting in line for meals unless you make reservations for the extra dollar restaurants.  One time with reservations plus paying an extra $10 per person for "premium seat", which were just satisfactory, we lined up an hour before our reservation and there were already 40 or so pepole ahead of us.  The food was medicore at best and we had to send back meals in the upscale additional paid restaurants twice.  The service was hit or miss in the dining areas and the cruise director and staff were only visible at the nightly events in spice H2O an outdoor disco type area.  Our room steward was the only bright spot and he was ecellent, probably one of the better ones we have had in our 29 cruises.

This ship needs quite a managemnt overhaul to correct all the poor service and food.

Also none smokers, you have to be assulted every time you pass from bow to stern as the casino smpking area is in the only walk area.

Amazingly for such a large ship, there is no midship elevators or stairs .

Also there is no sauna or steam room available unless you purchase a spa package.

Room service accuracy was a joke.
