An epic adventure

Sail Date: May 13, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Balcony

The ship is beautiful, the food on board is good quality and varied, the ports of call were excellent. The service was exceptional. Even though the ship was at full capacity, the staff always had a smile and a greeting.

Pros: Ports of call, Ship Quality, Service on board

Cons: Some shore excursions were a little short.

Recommends Norwegian Epic? Yes!

Ship Quality
The ship is new and very well maintained. The decor is beautiful and funcional.
Food and Dining
The free dining venues (The Garden Cafe, Taste Restaurant and the Manhattan Room) had very good quality food. Our favorite was the Taste Restaurant. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because sometimes it was difficult to find seating at the Garden Cafe, specially at peak hours. But other than that everything was great. We did not go to any of the specialty restaurants. It is an option, but you really don't need to pay extra to dine well on this ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
The cabin was nicely decorated and had plenty of storage space, (we were in a balcony stateroom) and it was kept spotless by our room steward.
Service and Staff
Everybody was courteous, helpfull and smiling. We traveled with our 9 month old infant and the staff went above and beyond to help us. At our request, the chefs would prepare delicious baby food for our son, which was a welcome break from the packaged food that I brought for him.
Entertainment
We did not attend many of the entertainment options because of the baby. My husband went to the Blue Man show, and he said it was good. All the choices looked excellent.
