Nice Cruise not the best NCL

This was our 5th NCL cruise. We were excited about going on the EPIC. By chance we booked 2 rooms and after seeing the room I was glad

Pros: Blue man Group

Cons: Room Layout Clear toilet and shower doors

Recommends Norwegian Epic? Yes!

On board we did Blue man group (excellent) second city (good) Cirque de dreams dinner show (show excellent, food BAD) and a comedian /magician (good) Band on the pool deck (Loud and poor)
Cabin / Stateroom
This is where the EPIC went wrong We stayed in balcony port side 8th floor staterooms Opaque glass surrounds the shower and toilet with the stateroom door located between them so unless you feel its OK to shower with the party in your stateroom, you better book 2 rooms. The Extra bed design is in the way or someone must sleep in a semicircle. We had two room, the drawers on one room were only 7 deep but the same drawers in the other room were 16 deep this goes for one of the wardrobes (figure that ) . The balconies were nice (8th floor are deeper then the rest) Now lets discuss lighting. To turn on the lights you have to put your key card in a switch by the door. The only way to make all of the lights in the room go off is to pull your key card (very strange)
Food and Dining
Typical NCL fare but dining staff in the "free" restaurants was lacking. We went to Cagneys and my wife "addded on" a lobster tail Just a warning thats $6.00 extra on top of the $25.00 per person charge (it was good)
Ship Quality
Nice quality a little confusing to get around. We booked towards the bow and with the way the elevators are set up I would recommend this location
Children's Programs
My kids said the kids club was OK but the counselors were not up to other NCL cruises
Service and Staff
I found the staff in the garden caf to be excellent The room staff was good the restaurant staff was lacking once they found out you were not ordering drinks forget it . we left twice without ordering dessert because the waiter had vanished. Guest services was acceptable. Shore excursion staff was in a bad spot We booked and paid for our excursions 6 weeks before our cruise the night before our stop in St Thomas they stick a note on our door that our excursion was cancelled. We rush down to try and get something else similar but we were told that everything is booked. We booked early only to get stuck on board ship. The Staff couldnt care less.
