Dream vacation for first-time cruisers

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

This is a BIG ship--shiny and relatively new. Over 4000 pax, yet never felt crowded.

Pros: Relaxing time, great service.

Cons: Leaving the ship on the last day!

Recommends Norwegian Epic? Yes!

Blue Man Group is fun, a unique offering for a ship. Lots of other music at smaller locations. No traditional "Cruise review" type shows (fine with me). Great blues band in the jazz bar.
Ship Quality
Overall rally very nice. Pools a bit small. Cool waterslides. Nice adult-only lounging area.
One thing lacking is a traditional promenade deck on which you can encircle the ship. The outdoor jogging track is a boring back and forth strip with view primarily of lifeboats. On the other hand, the fitness club is fanTASTic! Treadmills with ocean views...
Food and Dining
Excellent--never a bad meal, even in the "free" restaurants. Love being able to eat when and where we want. "Upcharge" restaurants were very good to outstanding whenever we went.
Cabin / Stateroom
We had a balcony--loved it. Some writers have complained about the design of the separate shower and toilet stalls, but it worked fine for us. Comfy bed. Wonderfully attentive cabin steward!
Service and Staff
Service is an obvious priority for the staff and they perform well.
