7 Night Western Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)
Sail Date: April 02, 2011
Ship: Norwegian Epic
Cabin Type: Balcony
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 6 years ago
The ship was overall very clean and crew friendly. It was, however too large for our tastes as the different dining and entertainment venues were quite a walk from our stateroom in the aft of the ship. We felt things could have been a bit more centralized.

Food and Dining

The food available in the non-specialty dining areas was superior to most of the specialty restaurants.

Service and Staff

Good for the most part but found the staff in the spa not willing at times to go out of their way to assist.

Some of our adult children did the parasailing and had a great time, our son did the deep sea fishing and was very disappointed in the structure of the trip - he went solo and was put with a family of 5 who "took over" the excursion. My husband and I did the dolphin swim and ride and has a good time, although it as very crowded with large groups.

Used a private tour company for our party of 5 and were able to do more than if booked through the ship (Vistor Boden Tours). The beach at Parrot Tree Resort was gorgeous and well worth the $10./pp admission

Visited Chochoban but used a private tour group (Native Choice).

Pros: food selections in Garden Cafe, spa (!!), excursions

Cons: ship too large and not easily maneuvered, upcharges in restaurants too high

Recommends Norwegian Epic? No.
