The ship was nearly new and we were very impressed with the entire place. We started with a tour of the spa and found out that the first 60 couples had a chance to upgrade to exclusive access to the spa (private pool, sauna, steam room, hottub, heated stone beds, and a view out the back of the ship) for only $199 per couple for the week - Sold! This was absolutely the best part of the cruise, as we never had to fight the crowds on the pool deck and it was VERY relaxing - well worth the investment, and I can see why others get the spa rooms, if only for this perk!

Food and Dining

Loved the Bistro, Teppanyaki, Moderno, Taste and the Garden Grill. Enjoyed the O'Sheehan's - all day Irish pub-like food which was good. Only complaint would be that the extra specialty restaurants' prices add up by the end of the cruise, but the food was definitely worth it.

Highly recommend the comedian/magician Jeff Hobbes, went to see Second City 3 times (including the murder mystery lunch), and the Legends Concert was unbelievably good!

Service and Staff

Would have liked to give this one a "Best" rating, but the service at the Guest Services deck was horrible on the last night. Waited in line almost 1/2 hour to sign for my bill. Ridiculous. All the other staff was fantastic though!

Ship Quality

Once the staterooms were available on the embarkation day, it didn't feel crowded most of the time, except in the evening on the 6th and 7th decks where all the entertainment was.

We had a balcony room on the 8th deck - I thought it was one of the best beds I've ever had on a vacation! Sumptuous sheets and pillows; I slept like a baby. Although there is little room between the bed and the TV/dressing table area, it wasn't any more crowded than the rooms I've had on RCI. Only Disney's cabins beat it out for space. We weren't bothered by the shower/open sink thing, although the water around the sink was a mess - we just planned around it and kept the towels handy.

Second time visit and we headed straight for Magen's Bay - one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The water is so clear you can see straight down to your toes. The sand is soft and white - gorgeous. $4 each to get into the park where the beach is. Taxi was $6 each one way. Recommend walking all the way down the beach for more private beach time (everyone seems to stop and plant themselves right at the entrance).

Visited Orient Bay Beach - was a great beach. Be prepared for the clothing optional section as this is on the French side of the island. Taxi to the beach was $8 each one way.

Husband rented a vespa and toured the markets - said it was fun.

Pros: New, clean ship, lots to do and eat

Cons: A little crowded in the main floors getting from one end of the ship to the other

Recommends Norwegian Epic? Yes!
