A "So-So" Cruise

Sail Date: September 04, 2010

Reviewed: 6 years ago

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

The Norwegian Epic is a new modern ship. It is quiet and well laid out with convenient elevators and stairways. However, our stateroom, a Family Balcony, which supposedly could have accomodated four was small and cramped for just my wife and myself. The curved sofa was uncomfortable and could only be sat on with any degree of comfort if one sits at either end. Lastly, the "open" bathroom was what I hated most. The small sink mounted in the bedroom allowed water to splash all over everything and it was an annoyance if the other party were trying to sleep. The sounds from the toilet and shower easily passed through the privacy curtain. No way will I ever choose this type stateroom again.

Pros: Live entertainment, anytime casual dining

Cons: Small staterooms, lack of bathroom privacy

Recommends Norwegian Epic? No.

Food and Dining
Service and Staff
Everyone was nice and helpful when asked. Compared to the staffs on the Celebrity ships, however, these people were below grade.
Entertainment
Poolside entertainment was the highlight of on-board activities.
Cabin / Stateroom
See comments above
Ship Quality
Except for the stateroom layout, a well designed ship.
Miami, Florida
Good tour of Miami and South Beach
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
Very good shopping
Cozumel, Mexico
Strictly touristie
Nassau, Bahamas
Nothing special, although improved from past years.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Excellent tour of the island (Dutch and French side) and good shopping.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
Nothing there of interest. Just souvenir shopping
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Though a bit primative, the tour and interaction with the locals was the best.
