A Cruise not to forget

Sail Date: September 04, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We felt this ship was the best we have been on! From the decor, to the music played and entertainment, to the food and the staff!

Pros: Food, Environment, Entertainment, Room

Cons: Casino in the middle of Deck 6 causing difficulty navigating this area

Recommends Norwegian Epic? Yes!

Ship Quality
We enjoyed every aspect of this except the Casino on Deck 6 making difficulty navigating this area. The ship was clean and modern. I loved the photos on the walls near the elevators. The size was not a problem for us, but I could see how all the walking could create a problem for some folks.
Food and Dining
Fantastic! The best of the 5 ships we have been on! The variety to the service were 'top-notch'! We loved the 'freestyle dining', it suited us and our vacation attitude of no worries and no pressure to be somewhere 'on time'.
Cabin / Stateroom
We felt the room was comfortable and 'sound proof'. Our room was always clean and the bed was very comfortable.
Service and Staff
The staff was the friendliest and the most accessible. The officers were present in the dining room and the buffet answering questions and making sure everyone was satisfied. We have never seen this nor the cruise director waiting at the end of a show we attended shaking hands and seeing what folks thought of the show.
Entertainment
Fun, great variety ranging from "Art Jeopardy" to Bingo. The music ranged from Jazz to Acoustic Guitar with electric violin, to rock.
Cozumel, Mexico
We have been to Cozumel before and always enjoy this port always leaving wanting more. We felt safe and the restaurants fun. The shop-keepers were ready to bargain so be ready for some good-buys!
Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
We booked the Jolly Roger snorkel and Gumbalina Park. The Jolly Roger Crew was very attentive to making sure folks needs were met. They broke us into 2 groups consisting of the experienced and the inexperienced. They watched us carefully and did their best to ensure a good time had by all. The Gumbalina Park was a nice compliment to the trip. It was small, but we had fun playing with the monkeys and the parrots. The guide and folks we encountered along the way were very nice.
Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico
We did not book an excursion here, so I left the port (by myself) and walked to a beautiful lighthouse. The area I arrived to was beautiful, but next time I would rent a golf cart. The walk was long.
