I learned from a cruise guide in Belize that the Norwegian Dream has a reputation for always being late to port at least 30 minutes. The problem is that there isn't a dock in Belize yet, and everyone on the cruise ship is ferried to shore. Not only does this take a long time but compounded with the fact that ship is always late can make you miss your excursions. It is very important to know that the Nowegian Cruise Line (NCL) gives priority to the passengers who book their excursions through NCL. This becomes a problem since it is more expensive to book through NCL, the boat is always late, you can get to shore easily, so you can easily miss your excursion. We barely made our excursion, but I don't know what would have happened had we missed it.

Advice: Belize has lots of tour guides booking excursions last minute at the port. I would wait until you are physically on land before booking an excursion, so you will know the weather conditions, you won't be late, and it is cheaper.

Food and Dining

As far as fine dining, there is the Four Seasons which has the same menu as the Terraces. The Four Seasons is larger and is less rocky. There is also a French Style restaurant with a different menu. Finally there is the restaurant that costs $15 cover.

Casino was pretty popular, more so than other ships.

Service and Staff

Very enthusiastic.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The ship is in good shape, contrary to other reviews. We had an ocean view room class C on the Atlantic deck and saw no signs of wear and tear or dirtiness. The ship is not the largest of ships so make sure the restaurants you heard about are actually on the Dream.

Cabin / Stateroom

Stated above. But I do like the fact they clean the windows everyday.

Pros: laid back, good service, enthusiastic crew

Cons: tendering in belize, late port arrivals

Recommends Norwegian Dream? Yes!
