Where this is not our first cruise, I suppose we might be a little spoiled by some of the other cruislines, but we were not impressed.

Originally we though that the concept of "Freestyle Cruising" would be great. No set times for meals, eat whenever you want, wherever you want. This has all the makings of a great time... Oh well, it was a great idea.

Due to the age and size of this ship, Freestyle Cruising means you will be waiting to be seated, sometimes up to 45 minutes. This would not have been a problem, it it only occurred during peak dinner times. Our experience was that it did not matter what time you went to dinner, you were going to be waiting.

I must make note, the staff (Housekeeping, Bar and waiters/waitresses) were fantastic. They did everyting they could to make the trip enjoyable.

Weighing all of the factors together, we have decided that we will probably opt for another cruise line, for our next vacation. This sentiment seemed to be very popular amongst the other passengers we talked to.

Of course, all of this information on the Norwegian Dream will soon be irrelevant. We were informed that the ship has been sold, to a Cyprus based line. The Dream will be finishing out this season and then replaced by the Norwegian Spirit.

Pros: Housekeeping Staff, Bermuda itself

Cons: Long lines for food and food quality

Recommends Norwegian Dream (RETIRED)? No.
