The check-in went smoothly in Barcelona even though they lost our pre-cruse registration. We were escorted to our cabin to find no key and other short comings. The escort was of little help so we went to the desk for assistance and they were very helpful.The food was only fair. It lacked flavor and freshness. It seemed like they were serving leftovers. The ship was returning to the US after beingin the Med. all summer which made some guests think they were cleaning out their freezers while we crossed the Atlantic.The service was poor in the dining rooms except for the sports bar where you served youself. This ship was obviously not built for freestyle cruising.The upholstered furniture in the theater wasdirty and torn in places.Our cruise was cut short because of "routine maintinence." When we arrived in Miami, we could not leave the ship until the second day we were in port because "we were not cleared by customs." This was like being in jail. Thank God we had a cell phone.No offer of compensation was made for this by NCL.
