Had a good time.

Sail Date: July 13, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (young children)

Room Type: Inside

The pools decks were confusing to navigate. There was not many
shaded areas to escape the sun, we finally found a spot on Deck 8 Aft.
Music was rarely playing but when they did play it was mostly disco,
rap or very mellow music. Kept waiting for the calypso or steel
drum type of music, was told by the cruise director that they were
not permitted by NCL to play that type of music any longer, very
bummed about that. The arcarde was very small, about 8 games. Bring
your own bottled water on board, they charge $4.50 per bottle.

Pros: Weather and beaches were fantastic

Cons: Onboard music and lack of shaded areas

Recommends Norwegian Dream (RETIRED) 136? No.

Food and Dining
Food in the main dining areas was good, confused as to why there was not
a wine steward that offered cocktails or wine. We had to ask ourselves.
Buffets inside and out were okay, pretty much the same menu every day with one or two different items.
Ship Quality
Good sized ship and fairly well maintained. The ship has been sold and
will be replaced by the Spirit in 2009 because it is not up to par with others.
Cabin / Stateroom
We were not in the room much so we purposefully booked a smaller cabin to save money. Housekeeping did a great job and provided us with all
we requested.
Service and Staff
The nightly shows in the Stardust lounge were fantastic!!! What a great
group of talented dancers and singers. The only poolside entertainment
was one 30 minute snorkel demostration and a duo who sang fairly mellow music several times. At night there were two different deck parties, both with a disco theme. Ready to rip our hair out if we heard the YMCA one more time. The staff was very pushy with trying to sell raffle/gambling
tickets at most of the inside venues, very frustrating to have to wait for a show while they sell more tickets.
Children's Programs
My 11 year old was very occupied and entertained. Only issue was that they would not allow the kids to bring their own water bottle to activites and they would not provide any drinks either. Not a problem all the time except when they were doing sports activities outside in the heat.
St. George's, Bermuda
Discovered Turtle Bay and Clearwater beach, 10 min cab ride from the ship, facilities, food, music, chair and umbrella rentals available. Tobaco Bay was closed on day after storm due to sewage problems. Found out that the island of Bermuda disposes of their sewage one mile of of the shore on a weekly basis, disgusting!
