Our family cruise

Sail Date: June 29, 2008

Reviewed: 8 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

Ship was fine, but we are spoiled having sailed on the dawn several years prior.

Pros: Having 3.5 days in one port w/out moving from port to port

Cons: ship is older with not much to do on board

Recommends Norwegian Dream (RETIRED)? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
I liked the staterooms and was surprised at how much room we had for three people in one.
Service and Staff
Our room "porter" was awesome - keeping our room nice and clean and making my son towel animals every morning which he loved. The restaurant staff was just average - after all given the tips are now "built in" to the final cost, they have no incentive to excel - they get tipped anyway.
Ship Quality
Ship is older so not much to do such as on the Dawn which we sailed on previously. Ship was clean throughout.
Food and Dining
Food was nothing to write home about. Service was incredibly S..L..O..W in the restaurants where you were waited on. Morning juice selections were boring, limited, and watered down. Ambiance? What ambiance?
Entertainment
Entertainment was ok....some was better than rest
St. George's, Bermuda
Did not visit any restaurants as food is so expensive on entire island and it is free on ship....duh...no brainer there! Thought the shops were great. Tobacco Bay beach is a great find and a beautiful walk from the ship. Do not waste time at Dockyard...same shops are in St. George. Visited the "Craft Market" and was expecting something big. The entire place could have fit inside my living room....big disappointment!
Don't Miss: Tobacco Bay (which we visited) and St. Catherine's (which we heard was great)
