Quiet and peaceful by zdurell

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (young children)

Overall, I never felt too overcrowded. Food options for vegetarians and vegans are limited, even when accomdations are made. Main dining rooms food was not the least bit impressive and while eating my meal, I felt rushed by waitstaff. Staff is kind and always checking up on you. The kind staff was definitely the highlight of the cruise for me.

Another Excellent Bermuda Cruise by DianaPr

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (young children)

The Boston port is easy to navigate. We enjoy the Dawn's small size and friendly staff. We feel safe and comfortable in Bermuda. We'll be cruising on NCL more and to Bermuda :)

I have gone on this... by tear1376

Sail Date: /

I have gone on this cruise many times, and always had wonderful things to say about it. This time around I only have it a 4 star because the customer service was bad at the restaurants only. The customer service everywhere else was the same. Everyone one was nice and willing to help, but at the restaurants, this crew were not nice. The worst of it was at O'Sheehan's. The waiter forgot about us, and we waited for a hour for them to come back with the dessert menu. Then when told we no longer wanted dessert was told, why I was being like that over and over again, instead of just letting go. It was the worst service I ever got in my life. This experience didn't spoil my vacation because everyone else were super nice, and willing to make our trip wonderful, making want to go back. Hopefully the next time around I'll have a friendlier restaurant crew.

A good, relaxing cruise by mltrem85

Over all a really nice getaway (if you live in Boston) and great cruise to relax - no rushing around. NCL did a good job refub'ing the ship and adding the Mexican specialty. Bermuda is nice as they don't rush the ship - very laid back but attentive. not prefect but very good. Three issues which degraded the experience: 1. The quality of the restaurants varied greatly. a. Specialty: We had excellent experiences at Moderno, Le Bistro, Los Lobos (a great addition) and the Teppanyaki house, while Cagney’s, our favorite last time, was abysmal (food was embarrassingly bad – right down to the sides). b. Main: Aqua (dinner) varied dish to dish (poor presentation, composition and taste on Cordon Bleu, good Carbonara). The Venetian lunch was very good. Bamboo (dinner) was also very good. 2. Entertainment was difficult to see. a. Stardust Theater was often over capacity for the later shows as people attending the early show remained in their seats through both performances, thus preventing access to those who came later (e.g. after dinner). We missed all but the first performance due to this issue. 3. Exchanging monies a. Guest Services would not exchange Bermudian dollars once we left Bermuda. They were willing to exchange some currencies (e.g. CDN for US, CDN for GMB) but not the country we just left. It seemed a bit self-serving. On the positive side: 1. The customer facing staff – ALL the staff – were exemplary! Very helpful and accommodating at every turn – always a smile and a “how to”, not “why not”. They are a true credit to the organization. I can only presume the issues we faced are dictated or uncontrolled by management.

Bermuda is phenomenal! by valentinka

Overall it was a good cruise. We loved Bermuda and the crew was great. There are two things I wish had been different: the layout of the ship leaves much to be desired-you literally have to go through the stinky lounge and casino to get to the theater, and the guests were seated at different tables in the main dining rooms and every night we had a different waiter. We like how they seat you in the same part of the dining room on Royal Caribbean, sometimes at bigger tables and you get to know new people, at the same time the waiters are the same and they know your preferences. Disenbarkation was a mess, nobody followed the picked times, and it looked like the passangers changed their minds as the morning went. We liked the art auctions. Special thanks to Lisa and her staff. The magician, PJ Wen, was fantastic. We especially liked the Elements show. The cruise director was awesome too!

Spending an extended period of time at one port was great. Don't have to worry about checking time constantly for returning to ship.Really enjoyed that. Not rushed. Able to see alot, sleep in, eat breakfast etc. NCL offered free ferry ride to other side of island, nice touch. About a 50 min ride on a very comfortable air conditioned ferry. Still, there were lots of things we didnt see. Will need to return. Overall very pleased with NCL. I thought that the dinners were excellent. Enjoyed anytime dining. Never waited more than 10 min, maybe twice. I was initially concerned about the avg. star rating but we have no complaints. Very relaxing and fun cruise. Take shuttle at port for $7 each way pp to Horseshoe Beach. Need money for lounge chair and umbrella for two at beach. $45USD. Also has small bar and eatery there. Very resonable prices. Bring your towels. Can jump from cliffs into ocean on other end of beach. Beautiful place. Entertainment was really suprisingly good. Reall enjoyed ourselves. Comedian was funny.(Flip) Late night hours , slow. Same duo for Grand Atrium everynight. Night club was active.

A Five Star Vacation by William711

This was my third cruise on the Dawn out of Boston. Each trip was unlike the previous trip. The option of of leaving out of Boston and avoiding the expense of additional travel was foremost in my decision to travel with NCL.

Boston to Bermuda by Chelben813

Bermuda was amazing and well worth the trip, but we were not prepared as to how the ship has only 1 pool and 2 maybe 3 very small hot tubs for close to 2500 people! We also were front witness to a medical emergency in the casino, which my husband was helping a young guy in his 20's who had started having a seizure. During this time, NOT ONE employee came over to see what the problem was or how this person was. They called for the medical team, but kept playing the game and kept the table going and never even acknowledged what was going on while the whole table was tending to the young person who needed medical attention. It was quite bizarre and unsettling to say the least.

All amenities were as promised but I feel the WiFi should have either been free or a lower price. You couldn't use the APP if you didn't have WiFi.

Absolutely wonderful cruise to Burmuda by mdgodwin

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Singles/Friends

I've been on much bigger ships but this was by far our best cruise. Food was good and service excellent. Everyone was so nice. It was nine of us and we had the best time. We met a wonderful family on the ship and they even came and got us at the airport after our flight got canceled on the way back and let us stay the night with them. Burmuda is by far the prettiest and friendliest island we have ever been to. I want to go back there.

Beautiful Bermuda by Bostonian88

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

The 2-family suite - and the perks which came along with it - made the big difference on this cruise. If your budget allows it, I would highly recommend the suite. Priority embarkation and disembarkation kept the stress levels low. The complimentary breakfast and lunch in the Moderno restaurant were delicious. A limited wi-fi, as well as drink and meal packages were included. The stateroom was well appointed, and the cabin steward was fantastic when it came to making up or turning down the rooms. Although friends of ours raved about the butler that came with the room, ours made a brief appearance during the first day never to be seen again. We didn't anticipate using his services very often but thought that it was strange that he was nowhere to be seen. Deck chairs near the pools were all claimed very early. If you want one, send a family member with towels to 'reserve' your chairs early. They go fast. There were always high-top tables near TopSiders which suited my needs. It was my first time in Bermuda and it surpassed my expectations. We spent quite a bit of time on land. The island was picturesque, and the locals were very friendly and helpful.
