Great Ship by RuthF1

This was my first cruise. I enjoyed the ship and the friendliness of the crew. It was a clean and ergonomically designed cruise ship. My kids had a great time exploring all the different corners of the ship and went to the shows at Stardust everynight. My eleven year old said that most of the shows were 'brilliant'. And they are used to Broadway shows in New York. She is already asking to come on my next cruise.

A Great Cruise by ThomasA3

We recently sailed on the Norwegian Dawn. My eight and ten year-olds had a great time. They loved the kids club and my ten year old begged to be put in it each day. The cruise director was great as was the entire crew. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The restaurants were great. We never made reservatons ane only once could we not get into a restaurant.

I had the Tiem of my Life by Marie3

The Norweigan Dawn is a beautiful ship, with all the major conveniences, and comforts. The food was great, most of the time, and the service was always excellent. Our room was very comfortable, and I was particularly impressed with the comfort and size of the bathroom/dressing room area. I was also very delighted t o find an in-room fridge, and beds that were very comfortable.

This mega-ship was huge!!! by Tamyra

It was like a 24 hour floating buffet! Food was everywhere and it was really pretty good! The service in the restaurants was like dining in a five star restaurant. There was always something to do, even if it was relaxing in your room and watching a good movie. The walls are a little thin and you can hear your neighbor at times. I had a noisy neighbor and complained at the desk. They took care of it immediantly and checked the next day to see if things were better.

Very relaxing by DanaB3

This was my second cruise and my boyfriend's fourth. We had high expectations after sailing on one of the new Royal Carribean ships last year but we were not disappointed. The Norweigan Dawn is a beautiful ship. We especially enjoyed the Freestyle Dining program where you can eat in either of the three main dining rooms or choose from specialty restaurants that require a reservation. Two of the specialty restaurants do not have an additional fee. The one that we tried, Salsa's, was a Mexican/Meditteranean mix. The food and service were both great and we almost went back for a second night. The other free option was Italian called La Trattoria. The only other specialty restaurant we tried was the French restaurant, Le Bistro. Most notable is its collection of four Impressionist paintings by Monet, Van Gogh, Matisse and Renoir. The $15 per person fee was well worth it to dine amongst these masterpieces. The food and service was also great and I especially loved the chocolate fondue for dessert! All of our other dining experiences were wonderful. We enjoyed being able to eat at whatever time we chose. Also, 2 of the 3 main dining rooms (Impressions and Aqua) had a small restaurant feel so we did not feel like we were dining on a massive cruise ship, but rather at a cozy restaurant. The food at all of our meals was tasty and well presented. The only negative comment I had was that the selection in the main dining rooms was sometimes not varied enough, probably because you have so many other options of where to eat. Also, because you can make reservations early on in the cruise I suggest going to the main reception desk and ask for a copy of the week's menus for the main dining rooms. This way you can pick a night to eat at the specialty restaurants when you know theres nothing you'll want to miss.

A cruise I already want to go back to by Ls11

I enjoyed my cruise very much. Nice new cruise ship, beautiful decor, helpfull and cheerful staf. Our cabin cleaning crew met all our requests with smile and it was done right away. When my cruise ended and it was time to desembark, I really wanted to stay for another week. On the negative side I would mention there is only one outside pool for such big cruise ship for adults. Dawn has an inside pool within spa - but you have to pay to use it.

This is a large ship that has a good passenger/staff ratio. Unfortunately, you don't get to know very many fellow passesngers due to the size of the ship or very many staff members due to the freestyle cruising,

What happens if it rains! ! ! by CwL

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Singles/Friends

I asked myself, what would I do if it rains most of the cruise? Would I be able to stand it on the ship with out getting off. After my Bermuda/ Bahama Cruise I found that the Norwegian Dawn could keep me occupied and happy if that did happen. There was way too much to do. I was checking off what I wanted to do, the night before, so I wouldn't miss anything. I even was able to get out of the sun by going to the movies. In air conditioning! I have been on four cruise lines now, and find this my favorate.

Norwegian Dawn--Almost Perfect by KurtE

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (young children)

With at least 15 cruises under our belts and many of them top-notch, this cruise was a 3-run homerun, if not a grandslam. The Dawn was stately, massive, beautifully appointed and visually stunning. Our room was exceptionally well-tended, the food--especially with the "Freestyle dining" option--was exceptional, as was our service. The staff was friendly and helpful, not an easy task with almost 3000 customers to serve. With three boys under 15, the one-price/week-long soda deal was a best buy, and the casual dinner dress was a godsend. Egress and ingress at ports of call couldn't have been easier, but the embarkation in NYC was both crowded and hectic, and the disembarkation process was far too long. The convenience of NYC area departure was an added plus, and baggage loading was handled very well. Even so, an early arrival at the pier is an advantage. I've sailed with Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Carnival, Holland America and others, and i had good experiences on almost all of them. None was better than the Norwegian Dawn, and we'd go back in a heartbeat--if we had the money. I'm glad we went before the college bills started arriving.

A cruise to remember by GaryS18

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Large Group

I was on the 4/10/05 sailing when the ship went into very high seas on the 15th after leaving Miami. . We were hitting seas of 28 to 40 feet and force 9 winds of up to 60 knots. The staff and crew were excellant during and after the storm. We got an extra day and all kinds of perks and refunds from ncl.

Will never use again by JulieK

Sail Date: /

The overwhelmingly disappointing factor on this cruise was the poor service. From the time that we were checking in, the staff members were rude and unaccommodating. Additionally, non-U.S. citizens beware!!! They have unclear documentation requirements for non U.S. citizens and members of my family (and I observed several other non-U.S. citizens) were not allowed to board the ship. They would not take any responsibility for their ambiguitiy and were extrememly rude. They would not even try to give our luggage back to us saying that "it would take too long to find" and that the ship might have to leave soon. When the members of my family that were U.S, citizens did board theh ship, we were once again met by rude staff members. The ship was 3 hours late to leave the dock and when the ship finally set sail, it was pretty much rocky 80% of the time.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED, A WONDERFUL VACATION by CarolynS4

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

WE HAVE TRAVELED NORWEIGN TWICE, BOTH TIMES BEING ON THE DAWN SHIP AND LOVE IT! UNLIKE OTHER SHIPS, THIS WASN'T STRICKLY "PARTY" CROWDS, AGES RANGED FROM YOUNG NEWLY WEDS, YOUNG FAMILIES TO MIDDLE AGE AND ELDERLY BUT THERE WAS ALWAYS SOMETHING HAPPENING LET IT BE A SHOW, CLASS, AUCTION, BINGO, POOL AND SUN BATHERS...ALWAYS SOMETHING FOR THE ENTIRE FAMILY AND THOSE OF ALL AGES TO ENJOY! THE FREE STYLE ASPECT IS WONDERFUL, NOT HAVING TO DRESS UP EVERY NIGHT TO EAT DINNER WAS GREAT, ESPECIALLY AFTER A LONG DAY AT AN EXCURSION, A SIMPLE SKIRT AND TOP WORKED JUST AS WELL AS A BALL GOWN,NOT TO FORGET TO MENTION THAT YOU COULD EAT WHEN YOU WANTED TO AND NOT WHEN YOU WERE TOLD TO LIKE OTHER CRUISES WE HAVE BEEN ON. THE STAFF ON BOARD WERE ALWAYS SMILING, ALWAYS WISHING YOU A GOOD DAY AND EAGER TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS YOU MAY HAVE, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BOAT FOR THOSE WHO SEEK REST AND RELAXATION ! AMAZING HOW THE FELLOW CRUISERS WERE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND YET WE ALL GOT ALONG SO WELL, TOO BAD THE REAL WORLD COULDN'T ALL BE CRUISERS, THE WORLD WOULD BE A MUCH HAPPIER A ND PEACFUL PLACE!

Seven day Bahamas/Bermuda/Stirrup Cay by LindaS48

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

The ship itself was beautiful. I did not like arriving in the bahamas at 8 PM at night because everything seemed closed. We had to be on board by 11:30 am which gave us little time to see one of the most beautiful places on earth. A shoppers heaven. Stirrup Cay beach was so nice, one of the nicest beaches i have ever seen. They water was so clear and clean.

Not The Best Cruise by JoeM3

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

Free Style Cruising is fun. The ship is huge and lots to do or not do. my bathrrom was so small, (how small was it) I have a linin closet at home large then the bathroom. The food was not great. I guess I expected more Shrimp, Seafood, Lobster ect. Some of the meals were outstanding. 2 of them. the rest were lousy and the service was great two nights out of 7, so I was not impressed with this cruise line. I will not go back to them. I will pay more and go with Disney instead. thanks Joe M

"One Day of Splender" by VilmaD

This cruise is the best thing I have spend my money on in a long time. I went back to work on Monday and was taking so much about it and showing off the pitcures I took that my co-workers are now asking me to make plans for another and include them.
