Nice to see some familiar faces, always nice to see crew members from past years. Nice cruise for people who have not cruised, cruised to Bermuda, 20's & 30's & 40's passengers. We were spoiled for many years with a smaller ship that docked in St. Georges. Change is not always good. Larger ships, more people = lines and waiting. Dining in specialty restaurants offers great food, but can't indulge every night it's just too much.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Specialty dining offerings are very good, maybe a bit too rich, think I overdid it, had to stop.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Not much of interest to participate in.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Enjoyed both island bands on the pool deck.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Staff are wonderful, bar and dining service was great! Huge issues with the revised service on the pool deck @ the pool bar. With most passengers selecting the beverage package, the floor waitstaff has been cut back significantly, passengers not able to order drinks as before by the many bar staff walking by, now passengers diverge on the bar and it's 5 deep with 8 bartenders in a frenzy. Not a good move by NCL. Too bad. Many people complained about being bugged on the pool deck by the waitstaff, but that was how they tips were made. Now they don't make the tips and there are very few wait staff which forces passengers to get their own drinks causing chaos that I have never witnessed in 25 years of cruising.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Nee design of Dawn is ok, more eclectic than tropical which was nice, especially cruising in the Caribbean and Bermuda.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Past 2 years we had balcony cabin on deck 11, significant difference in the smaller size of the bathroom this year.
Ship tip
Recommend the repositioning cruise on the Dawn, more relaxed atmosphere, less of a focus on the beverage package. Unfortunately, we have experienced passengers who do not enjoy the island music offered on the pool deck on these cruises. Can't please everybody.
