Review summary

First, I have been on many cruise lines such as Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Princess, Carnival, and I can say without hesitation that NCL is the worst.  They are completely unorganized.  For example, the "Anytime Seating" is a joke.  Since everyone on the ship usually eats dinner around the same time, there is a 45 minute wait and we were given a pager, just like the one I receive at a usual restaurant.  So what is the point!  Then they tell you to go wait at the bar.  Well--there are no seats at the bar because others who are waiting are sitting there.  There is absolutely no structure and it is like a "free for all".  When the cruise ended, there was no announcement of where to pick up our luggage tag number.  Apparently, you can select when you want to get off the ship by taking a certain colored luggage tag.  Once a certain color runs out, then you have to take a different color which means a different disembarkment time.  Since there was no announcement of where to pick up these luggage tags, I had to wait in line a the purser desk and ask.  Rahtner than spare the reader of other mishaps with this cruise line, I would encourage the reader to take Royal Caribbean or Celebrity as both of these are MUCH BETTER for about the same price.  It is not even close--the food, the entertainment, the structure, the events on board, the atmosphere, and the staff, are so much better with Royal Caribbean and Celebrity!!

I've been on 4 NCL cruises and never had a problem disembarking. Not sure what u missed because they make it pretty clear in the Freestyle Daily, signs everywhere and announcements. Glad we won't see u anymore on NCL with your negativity!

We just got back today & they announced & had in in the flyer. The colored tags are located near the service desk where all the other info is. You choose a color coded luggage tag Depending on what time you would like to disembark between 8:30-10 . Tagged luggage are to be left out by your room on Thursday before departure.

We are also leaving in Sept & always have a great time. For all those who haven't prepaid their gratitudes yet, do so now cuz rates are going up again this year starting Aug 1st. Inside cabin & above $13.95 Suites $15.50 per person per day.

was in May and it DOES list what to do for disembarking times and where to get the tags. this was our 1st ever cruise and had no problems at all on ncl dawn. in fact going again in September. we also put our name in for a reservation and was seated on time if not a few mins early. agree with skolteech514 about not sailing with us

They always announced it or had it in the Freestyle daily any time we've been on NCL.

I printed mine already. lol. I wasn't aware though you could choose when to diembark. isn't it usually people flying out off first?

hotrod86    9 years ago

I printed my luggage tags from the ncl site before I sailed.
