Very enjoyable cruise

Sail Date: June 19, 2015

Room Type: Inside

We did a Bermuda cruise with NCL nine years ago, on a different and smaller ship which docked in lovely St. George. Now they dock at King's Wharf, a less interesting "home base."  We enjoyed this trip greatly. The ship is well-appointed, food in Venetian was surprisingly good even with our high expectations from before. Entertainment was quite enjoyable.

Our only issues: 1) The A/C in several parts of the ship is too cold.  2) Music volume in almost every venue is FAR louder than it needs to be: if you go to a performance at Spinnaker you shouldn't have to yell at the people across the table. Gatsby's is a welcome exception to the volume complaint.

Food and Dining
The food in Venetian was surprisingly good and varied. In Bamboo it was surprisingly mediocre.
Service and Staff
All staff, particularly wait staff in Venetian, are personable and fun. Janice (check-in at Venetian) is delightful.
Entertainment
Children's Programs
Didn't use
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions We didn't do any pre-paid excursions
Ship Quality
Embarkation and Disembarkation
They handle both embarkation and disembarkation very smoothly (even though a computer glitch slowed our getting off the ship in Boston.)
Cabin / Stateroom
Small, as all interior cabins are, but beautifully well organized with tons of storage space. Bathroom is small (one of the performers said you could "sit, shower, shave, and answer the phone all at the same time") but very well laid out
Boston, Massachusetts
This is our home city and we love it.

Tip

Dawn is larger than we'd ideally like. On our last Bermuda sail 9 years ago we were on the Majesty, smaller but even that is pretty big. The trend is unfortunately toward bigger and bigger ships; the upcoming Escape will have 20 decks and 4,200 passengers -- grotesque.
