Positives - medical staff and housekeeping staff (both went over and above from a service perspective)

Negatives - the food is terrible.  Very limited selection in the buffet, the main dining rooms had very similar menus, which were all very bland and often overcooked.  The specialty restaurants weren't any better.  Very tasteless food, and all of the desserts had a very gelatinous look and feel.

Lastly, a word of warning regarding shore excursions.  In Belize it's a tender situation.  If you did not book a shore excursion through Norwegian, you have to get in line for a tender boarding number.  I picked up my ticket at 8:30am when it supposedly opened, and was number 336.  It took HOURS to get on the tender to head to the mainland.  The folks with excursions through Norwegian were able to board first, and received preferential treatment.  Sadly, Belize was the only port in which I didn't book through Norwegian.  Their website does not talk about this, so I thought I'd share.

Ship Tip

The mini suite was very large, and quite nice. Please note - there is only a single US outlet, so bring a power strip. We stayed on deck 11, which was often loud, due to the pool and events going on in the evening.

Great city, we arrived a day early. Lots to do and great food.

Lots of people on the street trying to sell you things.

Belize City was awful. Very dirty and lots of random men offering free massages. We took a water taxi to Caye Caulker (about 45 minutes away) in order to snorkel along the world's second largest reef. We hired a private tour guide name Caveman (he has a facebook page and is referred to a lot on Trip Advisor), and he didn't disappoint.

A truly beautiful place with very friendly people. We did an excursion to the Gumbalimba Animal Park, and it was our favorite part of the trip. Do not miss out on it. It's a beautiful park with very knowledgeable guides (we had Ryan Washington). We learned a lot, got to hold Barney the parrot and then spent time holding the monkeys. It was incredible.

We didn't love it. The salsa & salsa excursion was nothing like it was described to be. There's a strip of land with vendors, and everyone is after you to buy something. It gets very annoying after a while.
