We recently sailed on the NCL Dawn\, while the ship was older\, it was still in good condition. The layout of the ship had something to be desired\, because we felt like we were constantly running from one side to the other for dinner and shows...although this may not be a bad thing since I only gained 2 lbs. The entertainment was great! we took in every show Jose and Patti did\, including the Neil Diamond tribute! The Variety show was hysterical\, especially the human fountain! We ate in the Venetian and Aqua most nights\, the food was fabulous\, but the service was a little on the slow side if we wanted to take in an early show. We ate in the Garden Caf and enjoyed the early morning Rooster call! We would recommend this cruise\, it was nice going out of Boston\, no airfare costs. Bermuda was beautiful and the island people were very friendly and helpful. We used the Bermuda bus and ferry to get around the island and it worked out very well. Would like to go again\, as you cannot see everything in one trip!

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food in the Venetian and Aqua was excellent. We had Maine lobster tail and fillet mignon the first night in the Venetian. There was a wide variety in the selections to choose from at both restaurants (the salmon was excellent\, I had it 3 times!)\, so we did not feel the need to pay extra for the specialty restaurants. The ambiance in both restaurants was good...a little noisy when the dining areas were full\, but that is to be expected. The service in both was on the slow side if you were trying to attend the shows.

Jose and Patti are gems to the entertainment in the Dawn! We saw everyone of their shows and also enjoyed the Variety Show\, and some of the game shows on board. Wished that there were more shops on board that actually carried items from Bermuda and not just items from NCL.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Parents need to heed the signs that children do not belong in the adult hot tubs and should be in their own area\, which seemed to be very nice.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our steward\, Sui was attentive and accommodating. Rooster woke us up every morning\, he was very friendly and kept our coffee/tea cups full!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
A more desirable layout would be to have the dining and entertainment areas in a central location. We did a lot of walking from one place to another\, but this was not a problem for us\, but may be for others.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
We had a balcony room\, it was a decent size\, wished we could have opened up the balconies\, as we were with 3 other couples...it would have been nice to be able to enjoy each other's company.

Pros: The entertainment was fabulous\, especially Jose and Patti! The food was awesome\, Maine lobster and fillet mignon the first night in the Venetian!

Cons: Two of the hot tubs were not working at one point in the cruise. The disembarkment when we arrived back home in Boston was confusing and not planned well (we had a 45 minute tour of the ship while 2 members in our party were already out on the dock waiting for our van home)

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? Yes!
