Enjoyable, but with annoyances
Norwegian Dawn Cruise Review to Bermuda
Embarkation was chaotic - long lines waiting to check baggage - no automation in the process and little info about what we were to do - took over an hour just to get bags checked.
Entertainment was GREAT! Second City comedy troupe, Jerry Sager, and the ship's production company were wonderful. Amazed at the comfort of Stardust and the exceptional professional quality of lighting and staging.
Freestyle dining - the garden cafe was chaotic with no one directing you to food counters that were available. Cutlery in short supply. Enjoyed full sit down restaurants much more. We visited two specialty restaurants - Asian and Brazilian. Both were acceptable, but not worth the cover charge.
Staff - exceptionally welcoming and competent. Always available to help.
Excursions - two we took were great. Loved sunset cruise.
Focus on shopping - It seems that much of the cruise is spent trying to get you to spend money! Really, the art thing has been overdone and overdone. Shopping consultants on board now to encourage you to spend - so very tacky. Looks and sounds like QVC. I can stay home and watch television and be annoyed with this stuff.
Disembarkation was okay. Appreciated the option to take my own bags or have them delivered to the terminal.
Music by the pool was entirely too loud!
