Review of 6 day cruise

Sail Date: April 21, 2012

Reviewed: 4 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Inside

The staff on the ship worked very hard to please you. Some staff weren't sure where events were taking place and would send you in the wrong direction, but hey, it wouldn't take long to turn around and get to where you needed to be. 2 days in Bermuda was too short for the 6 days 4 days on the boat and 2 off, personally feel that a longer stay would have been better. Overall the ship was geared to lots of partying. Bingo I thought was really over priced. If you have 17 year olds they seem to be stuck in limbo too old for some too young for others, so that can be tough. The shows were pretty good overall.

Pros: Convenience of food and activities

Cons: activities were really mostly late night, in bad weather things were cancelled so it left lots of down time

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? Yes!

Cabin / Stateroom
This is average - I have never had an inside room before, it was fine.
Food and Dining
The dining was convenient. Its too bad you can't stay with the same wait staff each night, I think that gives you some personalized touch but they were all pleasant and wanted to please. We twice had hair in our food. Make reservations that helps - eating early allows you to get to show and then do lounge activities after that
Service and Staff
The room staff were great, the pool singing was really nice and upbeat and friendly, the dining staff and staff just while walking must be sick of saying 'hello' to everyone so sometimes they didn't acknowledge you. If you asked three staff the same question they all might answer differently but it always worked out. The Asst Director and Director had lots of energy and were engaging.
The shows were interesting and good. The crew show was just plan funny --what great sports within the cast of crew. Magic show, comedy, etc... the last day there were several good shows, wish that happened more often on a cruise that was mainly on the ship the whole time, that would have been great.
Children's Programs
Can't respond to this, I did have a few 17 year olds with me, but they didn't attend they went up and didn't stay as it appeared no one else their age was there. Its tough for that age group because they are too old for most too young for others, would be great to have a 17 - 20 age group activities going on. There seemed to be lots of kids in that age group on the ship .... at night they couldn't go to parties, it would be good to just have a no drink band and allow a 17 year old to join the 18 and older group and do virgin drinks if parents allow.
Ship Quality
Ship was fine - a small pool but it seemed adequate since the weather wasn't that great, can't imagine if the weather was nicer how crowded it would be. there was singing and piano playing in different areas at the same time and they didn't interfere with each other so that was nice.
