Sail Date: February 01, 2012 Ship: Norwegian Dawn Cabin Type: Balcony Traveled As: Couple Reviewed: 6 years ago
Our cabin was well kept by Paul who was excellent to deal with and is worthy of great praise. The ship itself was as expected from our past Norwegian cruises.
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
We utilize freestyle dining primarily though we did also go to Moderno one night. The selection of food was poor. Who goes on a cruise and expects to see maccaroni and cheese as a selection every single night? Since we don't like to dress up, this is our main source of dining and it was very disappointing this time. Perhaps cost cutting is causing this change but it isn't a good one. Moderno provided great service but the meats were overcooked and tough. We have dined at Brazillian steak houses before and this was the worst example we have encountered.

Service and Staff
3 out of 5
The usual quality of care was found in the service staff though the front desk and photo desk personnel were quite difficult to deal with and certainly not friendly. This too was a change from our past Norwegian cruises.
3 out of 5
The ship had a bad odor throughout the passageways like mold or old vomit. There was a great emphasis on using hand sanitizer which is noteworthy and commendable
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Paul took care of 10202 for us and provided excellent service, keeping the stateroom clean and provided with towels etc.
Pros: Visit to Barbados with a great coast to coast tour
Cons: two straight sea days at the end of the cruise, food selections for freestyle dining
