Norwegian Dawn Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
Ship: Norwegian Dawn
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Family (older children)
Reviewed: 8 years ago
Review SummaryBeautiful ship only marred by the lack of taste of owners. 2003 main staircase had set of 10 Andy Warhol Mao "portraits" , now replaced by 10 Warhol Marilyn Monroes, not significantly better.
This was our 18th NCL cruise, as Platinum Latitude members we were treated like royalty:) All sorts of extras. Only problem with sailing since 1988 is we see the changes from the "Glory" days of the line, mid - late '90s. We really miss the theme cruises and REAL Broadway shows. The entertainers are great, but no longer have the lavish productions of the past. We still prefer NCL over the other still active lines we have cruised with. The Norway is gone, but the class is still there.
Food and Dining
Bistro restaurant wonderful. There should be a law against the desserts, too darn good all over the ship. We eat early so never had a wait with Freestyle. Garden buffet not used much, but meal there was very good.
Second City "Improvisational" troup did SAME sketches as on Jewel 2 years ago. Lots of repeat cruisers, they need to change material. Juggler and Magician were terrific!
Service and Staff
Cabin / Stateroom
I know a later sister ship, Jewel is same. Just thoughtless design.
Upkeep of room, however,was outstanding.
Ports of Call
Don't Miss: Staying on the ship, wish we did.
Pros: Entertainment, great staff, all friendly
Cons: Horrible interior cabin layout
