A very good cruise

Sail Date: January 01, 2010

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

This was our second cruise with Norwegian and we will go again. The ship was immaculate, service was excellent. Embarkation and disembarkation could not be any smoother. On return, we went from the ships deck to the airline ticket counter at Miami airport in just over an hour.

Pros: Courteous service

Cons: One shore excursion

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? Yes!

Entertainment
We went on two shore excursions. The Atlantis submarine ride is truly amazing and I would heartily recommend it. The 7-Mile Beach Break was another natter. We were deposited at a shabby, rundown hotel with little or no service, no food, unclean restrooms and crowed rows of beach chairs placed elbow to elbow. Its not worth a fraction of the price.
On board entertainment was fine with something for everyone.

Food and Dining
I would describe the food as typical cruise fare. Theres certainly plenty to eat. The main buffet had a large variety at all meals, nicely presented. The food at the Blue Lagoon grill was mediocre and the service disorganized. The main dining room meals were adequate. We ate four of five evenings in the specialty restaurants which are excellent. One over cooked steak was promptly replaced and the surcharge for that meal deleted. The wine selections are great.
Ship Quality
The ship is well maintained and decorated.
Cabin / Stateroom
Our oceanview room was claen and well equipped, typical in our experience for this price range.
Service and Staff
Every crew member that we encountered was helpful and courteous; the staff in the specialty restaurants was particularly accommodating.
