Great Time

Sail Date: March 21, 2009

Reviewed: 7 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/young children

Room Type: Oceanview

The staff was extremely friendly, the ship was very clean. Due to illness, everyone had to be sanitized for every single meal. You were not allowed to get your own drinks or food, was became quite tiresome. The excursions were okay, I would recommend exploring on your own. Stay on the boat in Samana.

Pros: The shows were tremendous, flexible dining

Cons: Samana was terrible, food was so-so.

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? Yes!

Ship Quality
Very clean, and neat. When there was a problem with the pool, our kids had very little to do to stay busy and active.
Food and Dining
Cagney's is so-so. Mexican restaurant and Italian restaurants were great. Main diningroom had good meal as well.
Cabin / Stateroom
Very little time is spent in the rooms, so size is not an issue. But the dials to have the room cleaned or turned down were changed and returned twice to dirty rooms.
Service and Staff
Great staff and crew. Very friendly and accomodating.
Entertainment
The best shows I have ever seen in three cruises.
Road Town, Tortola, B.V.I.
A quick cab ride took us a great beach on the other side of the island. Lot's of places to eat and drink or do nothing at all.
Don't Miss: Beaches
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Great shopping and beaches.
Cayo Levantado (Samana), Dominican Republic
Stay on the boat...very dirty and poverty stricken. Shopping is more a hassle than a pleasure. Mangrove excursion was run by a Domincan captain that was impossible to understand.
Don't Miss: None
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
Great beach and snorkling. Not enough time was provided at this site.
Don't Miss: Snorkeling
