Norwegian Dawn

7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Miami Roundtrip)

Sail Date: March 07, 2009

Ship: Norwegian Dawn

Cabin Type: Oceanview

Traveled As: Couple

Reviewed: 9 years ago

Review Summary

Variety of things to do on the ship. The staterooms were just fine - I was scared of the "smallness" that I've heard about and honestly - they were larger than I was expecting (we had an outside stateroom with a view).

Don't do the jet boat ride IF you have a boat and/or jet skiis. It was exciting for the folks who had never experienced such, but for us - we have a boat and jet skiis - it was overrated.
Don't Miss: The shopping at the Ammolite Gallery

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas

Good snorkeling, but high price to rent. If you have this equipment, bring it with you.
Don't Miss: snorkeling

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Virgin Gorda Baths and snorkel - must do!!! Again, be "fit" - as you climb through and over the rocks to reach the baths and area for snorkeling. Must be a good swimmer too.
Don't Miss: Virgin Gorda Baths

Samana, Dominican Republic

The horseback riding/hiking through the rain foest to the large waterfall that creates a natural swimming pool. WONDERFUL! You get to meet the local people and have a local as your helper. But, it's not for everyone - be physically fit to do it!
Don't Miss: the waterfall

Pros: Variety of things to do on the ship and at the ports

Cons: That it wasn't a longer cruise
