Our first cruise. We left NY 1/18/07. Once we got through the boarding process everything was wonderful. The entertainment was very good. Cabin w/balcony was clean with plenty of room for storing our stuff. The staff was always pleasant and eager to assist you to make your trip pleasant. There were plenty of activities scheduled throughout the day and evening, so if you desired there was plenty to do to keep busy. Even though the ship was full, you did not feel as though you were crowded. The food was good, the specialty restaurants were extremely good. I cannot say enough about the staff, from housekeeping all the way up to officers. Everyone was professional, helpful and efficient. The ports were well chosen and off shore activities provided by the ship were very good. We did the Nautilus submarine in St Thomas and scuba diving in St Martin, both were well worth the money. The only problem encountered was one family with uncontrolled children who did cause problems for some passengers. After repeated warnings to no avail, the captain had the family put off the ship 6 days into the cruise. The staff did mention that this was the exception and they usually did not have this type of problem. When word got out, 90% of the passengers gave a cheer to the captain. This was our first cruise and we were thoroughly spoiled. We like the freestyle concept as we had no difficulty getting reservations to the specialty restaurants or eating when we wanted, rather than having assigned seating. The staff was very helpful and informative as far as the ports we would be visiting. The activities on the ship were numerous and diverse, so there as something for everyone. If you just want to sit back and relax that is not problem on this ship. Even during the day when there were a lot of people by the pool area, you never felt as though you were a herd of cattle. We will definitely repeat our business with NCL and are planning another cruise for next year.

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The specialty restaurants did have a cover charge, but this was not expensive and well worth it. We also used the "free dining" areas and the food was good. The chocoholic buffet is beyond your wildest dreams, ice sculptures, chocolate sculptures, chocolate fountains, and so many varieties of dessert that no one could possibly try all of them.

The shows were great. Bollywood was wonderfully done. There was a comedian who was absolutely hysterical and the magician was also very good.

Service and Staff

The training of staff is exceptional. Everyone works very hard to please you and make sure you are satisfied. I have absolutely no complaints about the staff

We were on deck 9 with a balcony. This is definitely the way to go. It was so nice to be on the balcony while coming into port or leaving, as well as watching the sunset on the ocean.

Pros: relaxing atmosphere, wonderful service, food was good, plenty to do

Cons: wait time to get on ship was awful, children allowed in adult areas
