Review summary
The Norwegian Breakaway Voyage of 1/7/2024 was my second Norwegian cruise (I’ve been on over 12 cruises with 4 different cruise lines in the last 14 years), and it was the worst cruise I have EVER been on. I don’t think I will ever cruise with Norwegian again due to the following: 1. We upgraded to a Haven Suite and paid a LOT more, but were on the 9th deck in the forward corner with 1 small balcony that had an obstructed view. There was no floor to ceiling windows as we were promised and no window in the bathroom. It could have been a good suite to give an indoor-booked guest as an upgrade, but THAT IS IT. It was horrible! 2. The bedroom window was small and circular and DID NOT OPEN. Had a sign that told us not to open the drapes!!! It didn’t matter if we opened the drapes BECAUSE THE VIEW WAS OF THE BOW OF THE SHIP ONLY – where the employees could take their breaks. UNNACCEPTABLE as a Haven Suite. We couldn’t even see the ocean! 3. We complained and were told there was nothing they could do. 4. We could hear the engineers, ropes, metal clanging on the bow of the ship at all hours. Open the window in the bedroom for light? See a guy climbing a rope!! 5. Constant LOUD banging and SHAKING – especially during the middle of the night. NO ONE SLEPT. Whenever the ship sped up or slowed down, we had intense shuddering and shaking, so intense that the chandelier over the main room table would rattle so loudly that we had to hold it to stop it. Asked the manager to fix it, but nothing was fixed. 6. Toilet broke on day 6 7. Every appliance was missing parts. This room needs a renovation! The smaller closet was broken. We could not hang anything and the door kept opening and slamming on the bed frame every 10 seconds. On the first day, we had several engineers and supervisors look at it and no one ever even tried to fix it. Never followed up.Embarkation
