Our fourth cruise vacation on as many different cruise lines. The Breakaway is an incredible ship in regards to comfort and convenience of facilities (spa, pools, bars, restaurants, theaters and entertainment). The staff is polite, courteous, accommodating and takes that extra step to assure customer satisfaction on large and small requests. I was particularly impressed with the nightly (and daytime) entertainment specifically Burn the Floor, Rock of Ages, Cirque and a surprise visit by Donna Vivino. The Cruise Director Julie is incredible, approachable and runs on 100 octane. I've never seen anyone work as hard.

Enough cannot be said about the staff. They are so polite and effective, always following up and assuring that your request has been met. For example:

Upon returning to the ship from each shore excursion they are there with cool, moist wash clothes to re-freshen your face and hands, ice cold water or lemonade and a swap out of your beach towels before re-entering the ship. Really a nice touch. The little things that really make a difference.

The Burn the Floor entertainers were available several days in the Atrium to offer Cha Cha, Somba, etc. dance lessons to young and old.

The Cirque dinner show was amazing and well worth the additional (and reasonable) price.

The Free-Style dining is so convenient. No more picking times, rushing to be on time, having conflicts with your entertainment schedules, no more major frustration points, etc. (got to love that Free-Style). Then on top of that the selection and quality of food in the three main dining rooms was impressive and every meal was delicious. We also tried The Brazilian Steak House, Ocean Blue, Irish Pub and Shanghai Noodle House and they were all terrific. One great experience after another.

The Thermal Spa facilities is top of the line. A wonderful experience. The best that I have seen on any ship to date and many upscale land based spas. The staff and masseuse were professional, highly skilled, attentive and first class.

Thank you NCL for a truly spectacular vacation. I've already booked two cabins for next year.

The steward was really very good. Always expending that extra effort.

Ship Tip

Make your specialty restaurant and entertainment reservations prior to your cruise. Time slots are probably available but might not be at the times that you would have preferred. A little foresight goes a long way.
