We had high expectations for this cruise since we had not sailed with NCL before. We had sailed nearly 8 times with other cruise lines. We were very disappointed. We were surprised to find so many things (and areas) of the ship required an additional fee. Just to go into the spa (not use services) cost an additional $199 per person. The adult area (Vibe) at the top front of the ship cost extra to use. The three main dining rooms (savor\, taste\, manhattan room) all had the same menus each night (defeats the purpose of having separate dining rooms). The food was no better than average. Other cruise lines have much better food included\, and a better variety. Had to pay extra to see Cirque de Solei\, and the buffet (garden caf) was horrible. I picked up a piece of bread from the caf\, and could have literally broken a window with it because of how petrified it was.

Pros: The shows

Cons: Nearly everything cost extra

Recommends Norwegian Breakaway? No.

Ship Quality
It seemed as though they tried to put too much into the ship. Not a lot of room to get around\, the hallways were very narrow\, and all of the inside common areas were jammed between decks 6-8.
Food and Dining
Food was sub par.
Cabin / Stateroom
The state rooms were as good as others from different cruise lines
Service and Staff
The staff was average. They didn't go out of their way to help\, but they weren't rude either. Unlike other cruise lines\, the staff \"hung out\" in the guest areas when they weren't on duty\, which only added to the over crowded aspect of the ship.
The shows were very good\, but all of the other entertainment was just average. It was the same few performers playing the same set lists in different parts of the boat.
