Cruising into 2022! by Jackson207

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

This cruise was everything we needed it to be! Due to the pandemic, the ship was at 50% capacity, which meant NO LINES anywhere! We had a great time, and honestly wish it could’ve been longer. New Year’s Eve was a blast, the only thing I would’ve changed was the DJ’s playlist at the Social. I can’t wait to do it all again!

Great Time by franchescaemma

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We had a lot of fun! Spent a lot of time in the Haven, and with Dang (bartender in the outside bar by the Beatles bar). Had a different specialty dining every night. Loved Los Labos and Teppinyaki.

Beautiful Bahamas Cruise by Jaylene18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a nice cruise weather was beautiful in Bahamas. Ship is beautiful but plain. Grotto boring! Loved escape grotto. On bliss looks like a shower that’s it. Loved Teppankayi speciality dining. Lack of communication goes to being served first couple of days at buffet. No silverware on tables. Rude hungry people. Couple times same girl was in fight with different people. Threw water in poor dudes face. Wasn’t even his fault. He walked away like a gentleman. No crew came to investigate. Ridiculous. Same another day but she was slapped in face. Again no crew came to see what happen.

One of my best ever cruises by purdonap

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

My first USA mainland departure that commenced in San Francisco. A bucket list Panama Canal transit and worth it all the way. Some great ports along the way. Loved the ship even though it was a bigger vessel. The entertainment team were top notch. I was able to see first hand how well NCL look after solo cruisers and I have now booked myself solo in 2021 out of Rome on the Epic.

Alaskan Bucket List Trip by rjpackwin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our second cruise (last year cruised Mexican Riviera) with Carnival. Although these are two completely different venues and environments, we would have to say the Alaskan cruise was much more beautiful and enjoyable.

Alaska is so beautiful. Pictures... by bilshup

Alaska is so beautiful. Pictures and video just don’t capture the awesome reality of God’s creation. Weather was mostly nice, occasional sun, partly cloudy most of the time.

Alaska was GREAT - Bliss was OK by Johns9016

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Recently did a cruise to Alaska aboard the bliss and overall the ship was great. Now that everyone is pointing out all the postive aspects about the ship, I’d like to point out a couple of things that upset me. 1. My father twisted his ankle going down the stairs on the first day during the muster drill. When he tried to see a nurse for some ice and a wrap he was told the nurses are only on staff from 6pm-730pm. If he wanted to be seen by the nurse off hours it would be $200. This is ridiculous; there should be a nurse on staff at all times. 2. Buffet during my cruise closed down way too early. After 9pm all I was able find was pizza and burgers; after 10 it was closed. I expected it to be open later than that. 3. Water slides were rarely open, even during a full day at sea in 60 degree weather. Could never get a straight answer from any of the crew about when we could use them. Other then that the cruise was amazing.

Just got back a couple... by ampm1970

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Just got back a couple of days ago from a 6 day Pacific Coastal from LA to Vancouver. Everything went pretty smoothly. The ship was very clean and the staff friendly. I would agree with most other reviewers about the elevators being very slow. I just used the stairs as much as possible. I loved the studio cabin and use of the studio lounge. I got a lot of use out of the coffee machine; I didn't have to go to Starbucks for a cappuccino/latte. Q's beef brisket was awesome. I mostly used the main dining rooms other than the times I ate at the specialty restaurants as I had a dining package included in my cruise. I will say the app was finicky at times but I always had my Freestyle Daily with me so it wasn't a big deal. The thermal suite pass was totally worth it. Try the snow room if you get the chance. I only had one ship excursion in Victoria. I planned my own things to do in San Francisco and Vancouver. Jersey Boy's was awesome! Havana, not so much. I heard later that I had seen a shortened version the night I attended so the story didn't make sense. As this was sort of an experiment for me (I had never been on the large Norwegian ships), overall I kind of prefer the smaller ship size as there are less crowds and the atmosphere is cozier.

As a veteran cruiser I... by twoammedic

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

As a veteran cruiser I had high hopes for the Bliss. Unfortunately it fell short. There were pros, including a beautiful, state of the art ship, with terrific entertainment including a Broadway quality Jersey Boys show. However there were several disappointments. The service was very hit or miss, and the customer service desk was pretty useless. The main activities like go kart racing and laser tag sold out the first night for the entire week, leaving minimal things to do. Not to mention they were very disorganized, like when they overbooked laser tag and had to split families. For the size of the ship, there were minimal pool areas, and a design flaw in one of the water slides resulted in multiple people getting stuck in the tube while hanging over the side of the ship. Not to mention the a decent chunk of the upper levels, aka the Haven, was closed off except to people that paid extra. I have now sailed NCL multiple times and have been disappointed each time. I will stick with Disney, RC, and Princess.

Mexican Rivera cruise: April 21st... by Cruisemickey88

Mexican Rivera cruise: April 21st 2019. Great ship all around. We had a balcony room. I would say I was disappointed with Mazatlán and would not go back there.

So much fun! Much better than negative reviews! You will love it too.... by ardeluca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I read so many reviews about the Bliss and was a little worried. I loved it and one of my most fun cruises. We sailed the first week in Jan. These are my pros & cons. Total of 9 of us. (2 Solo cabins, 2 balconies, 1 Minisuite). Cons: *They changed the price of the go-cart week pass from $99 to $199. I didn't like that very much. I was not told the price at the time of sign up, did not sign a little paper or anything. I just noticed on my bill a few days later. I complained two times in the week but told no refunds. They got me this time! --------------- *I could not use my USB movie stick in the room TV to watch some movies sometimes. it would not let me change the input.... totally locked down and hard to reach in the back even if I wanted to use the USB for charging electronics. Not a big deal. --------------- *Internet was a little slow but much faster than past NCL ships. I got 30 minutes free for Platinum Status. That is all I needed. Free fast internet at the ports. ------------- *We only did one Bingo at the final Bingo. $49 for 9 squares. No more 3 squares sold so that is a big increase. The prizes were not very high considering the smallest package was removed. A lot of people playing. Past cruisers get a bottle of Champagne per room. That means we got 5 bottles. Would be nice to have the options of red/white wine to help with variety. First world problems. :) ------------- *It is a little game we play with NCL to get my bill as high as possible and I work to keep my bill as low as possible. Up to me to be charged for what I want. I did not feel nickel and dimed. They could complain about me for nickel and diming them! :) - - Pro's: Embarkment and Disembarkment was fantastic. Got to the port at 2pm without a line and left the ship at 7:40am with walking off my bags ourselves. ------ *Food was wonderful, 4 specialty rest. and 3 main dining. All amazing. We ate at the buffet for breakfast, lunch, pre-dinner nibbles, and post-dinner snack. ----- *Staff was fantastic. These people do their best to help you and be happy. Not one jerk or issue. -------- *Elevators were busy during peak times. No different than any other cruise. The difference is you need to walk up many more flights of stairs when using the stairs. Please note: you need to press both elevator buttons a few feet away (setup by 2 banks of 4). If you only press one then you are waiting for only 4 elevators rather than the full 8. I learned that on the Epic & Gataway so this was the same. ---------- *The Go Carts were so much fun! Can't tell you how surprised and fun it was. These went fast after a few practices runs each session. We got 3 weekly passes and the rest of my group did not have any issues getting on in the evening time without reservations. It was busy during the day with 10 riders per session but night time was best with only 5-7 riders per session. Less congestion and more fun. Weekly passes went up to $199 a week. I went on about 20 times and the other 2 passes in my family went 30 times. The best time and most fun were after dinner every night, 9:00-11pm. ---------- *Cruise director Silus was amazing, funny and so much fun. I got called up to Deal or No-Deal. Loved it and so exciting. I won $599. We only did one Bingo at the final Bingo. $49 for 9 squares. No more 3 squares sold so that is a big increase. The prizes were not very high considering the smallest package was removed. A lot of people playing. ----- *We had the drinks package, service was fast and not an issue. If one bar was busy we walked down a few feet to the next bar. ------------ *The local had really good food 24 hours a day and a great view of the large stage/LED screen for shows. ------- *Observation deck 15th floor was quiet and looked great. -------- *I did not go in the pool or sit to sunbath but used the hot tubs all the time. No issues there. ------------- *I really wanted to do the water slides but so busy doing other things we did not get to it the whole week. Fun to watch as we walked by. --------- *The spa was amazing but expensive. We waited until port days to get 25% off which made it reasonable. Happy to see they changed the bill wording from 20% "service charge" back to 20% "gratuity" to avoid any confusion. ------------ --------- I am so grateful to have had a great week on the beautiful Bliss. Thank you NCL for putting up with me and my family.

Cabin 11914aft Loved the ship and... by lakestu

Cabin 11914aft Loved the ship and it was great to have an eatery open 24/7, wish all ships did. My only drawback was their design of the closet. It was hard to squeeze in between the sofa and closet to hang up clothes

The ship was poorly laid... by ashleybrandt

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The ship was poorly laid out but beautiful all at the same time. You can tell they did all they could to save money though. Food was terrible we had better food off the ship and the food was the same everyday. There ended up being food poisoning going around on the second night. The only place we got good food was tappenyaki. They had amazing service since I have a bit allergy they went completely out of their way to make sure I could eat what they were making. Other than that the staff didn’t seem like they wanted to be there at all. Our entertainment director was amazing though always making sure everyone was having a great time and went out of his way to say hi to everyone. The best part of the cruise was the people we met so there was some positivity out of this.
