Ship size was awesome but placement of things caused there to be overcrowding in spots. Food was good. Shore excursions offered through the cruise line were good. We saw tons of wildlife which made the entire cruise!! Alaska is beautiful regardless of the ship you go on. We would try Norwegian again, in a different location. We would love to do a land trip to Alaska and Canada to get more time to explore. Overall a nice family cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Time slots didn’t matter. Quickly through the overall line then waiting in a large room for embarkation to the ship itself.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The buffet was the biggest option for “free food”. The options were endless and the quality wasn’t half bad considering it is a buffet (aka mass produced food). The salad bar and pizza were our favorites. A reservation was required for the main dining room and it was often booked up so long waits were to be expected. The overall “free” options we’re lacking compared to other ships we’ve been on. We did 4 specialty dining options and each was good but the steakhouse was the best. Overall the food was good.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Plenty of differing options for activities. It’s was quite cool out and the pools are not heated so only a few braved the chill. Laser tag, go cart track, gym, and water coasters were a few highlights for people to experience.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Jersey Boys was GREAT! The other shows were okay. The comedians were good but had the same show at each offering. There was a big bingo game as a few deal or no deals options. They atrium area left something to be desired as there were not enough chairs to have so many activities there.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Everyone was nice and welcoming. The rooms steward experience differed from past ships and the attention to detail was lacking. The staff in the restaurants were great.
