Review summary

We have sailed with Norwegian many times it seems to be getting worse. They clearly do not have enough staff. You wait in lines for everything you do. You could wait an hour to get sat for dinner. There are too many people on this ship. If you can find a place to sit and relax for the day you are fortunate. Many people will take up a whole couch in the lounge or on deck all day so no one else can sit. The Beatles were great, we saw them 8 times but you have to get reservations for most of the other entertainment. The staff is fantastic but you can tell they do not have enough help. We waited for a long time to get served once we were sat for dinner. Getting off the ship was a complete nightmare. We waited until our color tag was called and it was a 3 hour wait on our feet to leave the ship and go thru customs in LA. I have other cruises booked and I plan on cancelling. The workout area has too many treadmills. Only half of them get used. If you're looking for a bike or row machine. Good luck! It's a shame, we used to look forward to this type of travel because of the convenience. It's no longer enjoyable when you get thrown off the ship and wait hours to get to the airport.

No, self debarkation has it’s own color to be called and still has to go though customs. The problem is in San Pedro. This OP had the opposite issue we had. We embarked for Panama Canal cruise in San Pedro in January. We checked in online, so that wasn’t the issue. Actual final check in at the counter took less than 10 minutes, so that wasn’t the issue. We stood in line for almost three hours, too. The facility in San Pedro is horrific. All the people with self debarkation got to stand in line with us for embarking, but dragging all their bags with them.

I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone complain about too many of something in the gym. Better to have excess than not enough. There is also an easy solution to the concern about disembarkation, self-disembarkation. No waiting for your color to be called. Take your own bags off when you feel like it.
