We (my daughter, aged 10, and I), had a great time on the Norway (August 11-18, 2002). I took eight cruises before (river cruises), and this was my first time with NCL.First, it is not true that a/c did not work (the probably meant International Deck on the Fifth Ave. and Champs Elysee sides, but still it was OK). Everywhere, it was perfectly fine, very comfortable temperature, even sometimes a little bit cool. Even though our cabin was tiny, we found it very cozy and well maintained, (anyway, we were spending most of the time outside). We really liked the pool on the sundeck, it is not big, this is true, but we are on the ship, not in the Chelsea Pier Sport Complex. We liked the ship itself very much, elegant (compared to huge "floating buildings," where it takes a week just to find your dining room), has a very rich history, it is unique, and I can say with pride, that I cruised on the oldest passenger transatlantic liner. The food was good, entertainment as well, I found the musicians and singers excellent, very professional, especially in the Cafe Internationale. Tenders did not take a lot of time, no more than half an hour, we consider them as "part of the game," what an experience! You do not have to wait for them in the corridors, as some did, we were on the deck contemplating islands and the ocean. I can not say that elevators are slow, I took it only once, I prefered stairs, the ship is not THAT big that you can not live without (5 minutes by stairs from the Star Deck down to Biscayne), besides, it was a good work out. One word about kids and teens. The only thing that I found really annoying, was to see them past midnight, yelling and running around during shows (in the North Cape Lounge, fyi), clapping on the bar stand, asking for drinks, etc. But this is the issue to be addressed to their parents, not the crew, they have to teach them how to behave in public, some good manners (if they know themselves that, of course), I did not let my kid to attend events and shows after 10pm.In one word, we enjoyed the cruise without paying attention to small details, and I am very happy that I did not follow bad reviews (even though I got very upset when I read them, and wanted to cancel this cruise), we got a very good time, and it was one of my best vacations I've ever had!
