Many reviews have bad-mouthed this ship. I'll tell you what it's really like. Set sail Feb 3. Have previously cruised with Celebrity Mercury so I will make comparisons. The ship is incredibly beautiful and there will probably never be another opportunity to sail on one like her. She is a classic beauty and her history is fascinating. The lounges are exceptional, especially Club Internationale which is very much in its original glory. Our cabin was terrific (cat A, Viking deck); I have stayed in hotels with smaller rooms. We even had a bathtub! I hear some cabins are small so be sure and get the square footage when you book. It was always clean and sunny even though we had a smoking room and don't smoke. The pool areas are always a bit crowded, but we had more success on upper pool deck. Go early to the shows especially in the North cape lounge since it fills up.The service was exceptional. They escorted us to our room (Celebrity did not). Debarkation was well explained and they even had morning room service for breakfast the final day. Dining service was good also. Late seating is better if you like to do shore excursions. Here are the negatives: the food was good but not exceptional (Mercury was much better), unless you eat in Le Bistro which I recommend despite the gratuity fee because the food and experience were excellent. Tendering to shore can cut into precious time so get there very early to get a tender ticket. I recommend you skip the snorkeling excursion in St. Thomas and take the early tender to St. John and get a taxi and go snorkeling on your own at Trunk Bay. They will rent you all your equipment (better if you have your own) and the snorkeling there is better than any I've ever done anywhere. You still have plenty of time to ferry to St Thomas and go shopping. St. John is much prettier than St. Thomas if you like scenery and you avoid the tendering rush.Entertainment was very good. See Stan Sykes in Sports Bar,(he can really sing!) Don't miss the Elvy Rose show. We were skeptical at first but totally won over. Also the best theater show was the farewell performance, we were very impressed. All in all we had a wonderful time. The ship is not the newest and brightest, there are some signs of wear, but she is very classy! They don't make them like this any more. Over all the Mercury was a bit nicer, but this ship has history. I would cruise on this ship again but she's heading for Asia so I'm glad I didn't miss the chance. --Leslie from PA
