This was a great cruise. It had been 7 years since our last one and I don’t know why it took us so long to do it again. All three of our cruises have been with Holland America and I have yet to see a reason to change. I’m so glad we chose Norway to visit. When we were first planning the cruise and deciding where to go, Norway was kind of middle of the pack as far as choices. We finally agreed on it and now I know that those places of tremendous beauty you only see in photographs really do exist.

All the family had a fantastic time on this new modern ship. Great attention to every detail. Great crew/staff.

This was the trip of a lifetime for me. My mother's side of the family was all from Norway. So to see so much of the country and experience how beautiful the mountains, valleys, fjords, villages and housing built on the hills are was just breathtaking. It is just so hard to put in to words that can give someone who has not seen it a true idea of how beautiful and majestic the waterfalls and mountains are. The captain of the ship for one particular waterfall in a fjord did a 360 degree turn with the ship in the fjord so that all passengers could see it's beauty. I had a particular reason to go to Norway. You really don't need one!

Overall, this was an excellent 2-week cruise. I wasn't sure how I would like the sea days because of the crowds but it was not crowded anywhere and there were plenty of activities. I would highly recommend Nieuw Statendam. Beautiful ship.

We had a few hiccups early on the ship but overall turned out to be a great cruise. We loved the well thought out cabins and bathrooms. The public spaces had gorgeous and interesting art. It was a lovely itinerary to enjoy the beautiful and awesome nature of Norway.

Norway was a beautiful and unique place to explore. There is so much beauty, history, and architecture to enjoy. What better way to discover the country than with HAL. Holland America always offers a pleasurable experience and is attentive to detail. We enjoyed our cruise. We were a bit disappointed with HAL starting to show class distinction aboard its ships. The Orange Club restaurant was only available to suite owners which we found to be appalling and there were perks provided for future cruises that weren't available to anyone else. For this reason, we chose not to book another sail with HAL at this time.

This was one of the best cruises we have ever done and we have done quite a few. If you ever get a chance to do the midnight sun in Norway it is well worth it.

One of ther best cruises we have taken as far as the ports were concerned. Ship was new and clean. Food in dining room could have been better. Drinks were very expensive. Entertainment was below cruise liner standards. Would go again but maybe not on Holland America.

Superb vessel. Good seagoing characteristics. Not too large. Will not sail through the Panama canal due to the lifeboats sticking out too much. Higly recommended.

Holland America is always outstanding in service, food, music & excursions.

I had "watched" the Nieuw Statendam being built in Italy (on Instagram) so it was a thrill to be able to sail on her for her final inaugural Caribbean cruise before the transatlantic cruise back to Europe for the summer. There were no disappointments at all. The food and staff were definitely the highlights. I would highly recommend this ship....and don't be afraid of booking an obstructed veranda if money is an issue.

Relaxing 7 day cruise to new ports for us. Missed half moon cay unfortunately. Brand new ship and for the most part even better than Koningsdam except for the Crows Nest which they have made a mess of. Adult pool needs more supervision. Loved the new entertainment and music venues

Probably due to a new-ish crew and staff but there didn't seem to be a fun team spirit. On our other cruises, the staff (even in busy Lido and dining room) learned our names or at least recognised us each visit. Our cabin stewards and Cabana stewards were GREAT! Very personal and always had a smile!

This ship is absolutely beautiful heres the good things There is no better buffet at sea than this we never ate in the dining room because the buffet was that good heres a partial list of foods prime rib 3 times lamb every day salmon every day haddock,cobia,mahimahi,giant shrimp,lobster tails,filet ,roasted veg. Numerous risottos ect.ect.ect. top of the line food I dare anyone to find a better buffet than this.then there's the burgers and Nathan's hotdogs by the pool try the caramel pretzels and the pizza and deli as you watch a movie by the pool all part of your fare then the music row bb kings blues club the top billboard and dueling pianos the main theater with its 360 degree led screens we saw blue planet and you felt like you were in the ocean Unbelievable soooooo cool! I recommend this ship to one and all the only drawback I saw was lack of things to do on sea days for people in the 20 to 60 year old range and for those who stay on the ship when in port also not much of a library so bring a couple of good books or buy them in port

This was an amazing ship, we had a fantastic time.

Sailed April 7th everything was great. The Retreat was marvelous. The service was superb. My wife and I were in a Neptune suite. It was wonderful. Big bathroom with walk in shower. Third time on HAL will always be back. They make you feel like a VIP.

I love that they don't have the messages going all the time like on some ships. Wish there had been more to do onboard. It is almost hard to get a drink, which is in contrast to other cruise lines.
