Cruise was amazing the only downfall was the jewelry stores pressuring you to buy something after they said to come in hassle free but other than that an excellent cruise

HAL caters more toasts retirees or older couples with disposable incomes.

Liked the Nieuw Statendam but preferred Princess and Celebrity. Service was lacking in dining areas. Food fabulous. Entertainment very good. Loved the “History of Holland America Lines”.

Overall a wonderful cruise, the weather was warm and sunny throughout, the ship was extraordinary and always had a smile on my face!

They cruise was good, shows were okay, food was okay, destinations were great! Very low key, not much to do onboard and nothing lively around the pool area. Strange picks for family night movies at night....didn't stay for them.

Enjoyed my experience very much but found certain highlights missing from my previous experience. Entertainment in main show room lacking, fresh flowers few, missed the wide promenade walk wrap around deck where you could sit outside and enjoy the view. I also found the artwork was very modern which is not my personal favorite.

Over all, we enjoyed our cruise. Beautiful ship. Nice staff. Food was good. Strongly disliked the Lido Market buffet arrangement. Loved the Music Walk. World Stage entertainment was disappointing.

Nieuw Statendam is a great addition to the HAL fleet while still keep the traditions afloat along with a new modern twist. Sister to Koningsdam, an amazing class of ship!

Very nice ship. Loved the art all over the ship also. Enjoyed the rock room band.

Would not do a transatlantic again with Holland America.

This was the longest cruise we have done to date. The Nieuw Statendam is a superb ship. Clean, safe and professionally crewed. We had a back to back, with the Mediterranean Mosiac and Transatlantic together. The weather was fantastic with just 10 minutes of rain and calm seas until one day out of Florida. Rougher seas and rain but not too bad. Highly suggest this shoulder season cruise with smaller crowds and fewer kids. HAL attracts an older crowd (like us 70’s) and the pace is relaxing with no go karts or water slides. The NS does have a retractable roof over the pool so you can swim in chilly weather.

This cruise had a great itinerary with a good mix of ports (10 day Mediterranean portion) and a relaxing 14-day ocean crossing. The ship is new and beautiful with interesting art displayed throughout. The service was outstanding and the crew was friendly and very accommodating. Although I enjoyed the music in the Rock Room and BB King’s Blues Club, I felt that the entertainment on Center Stage was mostly mediocre with a few exceptions. The food in the Speciality Restaurants was outstanding, especially the Rice Table Dinner in Tamarind. MDR was loud, and food was inconsistent, but service was always excellent. Good cruise for an older crowd.

Beautiful ship! The retractable roof was great! Enjoyed the pool area when weather wasn’t great. The evening movies were fun! Entertainment was very good! The ports were beautiful! We missed Athens because of high winds. Enjoyed this ship!

We are now cruise people. Who knew. We will definitely do this again and only with Holland America. Experience of a lifetime.
