This was our second cruise with HAL. The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. We liked it so much we booked the same ship to Alaska in June 2023.

This was our first time on Holland America and we were pleasantly surprised. The food was fabulous and better than on most other ships we have been on. We like the mid ship better than the larger ships as much less people (2000 vs. 5000) and the crew to passenger ratio is 2:1. Great time and we would definitely go back on HA.

Nieuw Amsterdam is beginning to show its age. The ship and crew were great, but the programs and entertainment were not well planned. One evening the entertainment on the main stage was Top Gun Maverick! Shown twice! That movie is playing on the pool deck of other cruise lines. If you are looking for a sedate vacation--this is the cruise for you. If you want excitement and a variety of nightlife opportunities, look elsewhere. If you like country music--avoid this cruise.

Nice to just spend time onboard in the spa. Have been to islands before.

We had such a good time. Will sail HAL again. We want to do a longer cruise next time.

Overall, our experience with Holland was exactly what we were looking for. We will repeat.

Seems like a very suitable Starter Cruise. If you want to kick the tires to see if cruising is for you

My best cruise (Alaska) & worst cruise we’re both with Holland America - this being the worst! They charged us $30 for tips but still charged tips for drinks also

Would not suggest this cruise. The spa overcharged us on this cruise as well as another Holland America cruise; they correct it. Really, who wants to constantly bother with overcharged nonsense for a poor quality facility. For similar pricing, the competition provides better spa facilities and accurate billing.

Overall, we enjoyed the cruise. The entire staff did an outstanding job and were very friendly.

Purchasing 'Club Orange' for an extra $500, which promised priority things was a joke. No priority was actually given --- oh maybe a very little bit, not definitely not worth $500. My travel agent never explained there was a 'club orange'. IN GENERAL THIS SHIP WAS INFERIOR TO OTHER SHIPS, SPECIFICALLY CELEBRITY CRUSIE SHIPS, IN MANY, MANY WAYS, AND I AM VERY DISAPPOINTED MY TRAVEL AGENT DID NOT KNOW TO EXPLAIN.

The cruise was 23 days and mostly went as planned. The sea was unusually calm so any motion sickness was minimal. We covered a lot ground and the cruise was very relaxing with lively nightlife especially at Happy Hour at the Ocean Bar and Billboard Onboard Bar. Entertainment was varied with good show nights, music nights, etc. Food was generally pretty good with lots of choices. Specialty restaurants added to the variety. Stewards were excellent and Sommelier-sponsored wine tastings were fun and informative. Daytime had many activities or you could just relax around a laid-back ship. It was a great way to emerge from Pandemic restrictions and enjoy the beginning of Autumn in North and Central America.

Overall, this was a very good cruise. We enjoyed the wine tasting events most of all. Weather and port changes were only minor inconveniences.

The sea part was great. But we were given no information regarding the land portion, where we would be when, in order to make excursion plans, Not before, not during and only wwere provided a 1 day advance notice of what our days would look like when we got that days hotel keys. very disorganized.

Overall, a great trip. Had some rain and fog at times but it really didn't take away from the wonderful experiences and scenery. The day spent cruising down the inside passage was breathtaking. This trip is well worth your time and money.

Great team taking care of our stateroom and the waitstaff was always on top of every detail

No way is this cruise a 3.3 . It’s not the stops that make all of your vacation but the cruise ship and how you are treated on the ship! They need ALOT of work

Wonderful cruise, ship was great, all the staff was very friendly and helpful, room was great, activities were numerous, excursions were all great. Will probably do this again in a year or so with family

Our Air Canada tickets were canceled 4 times and rebooked with Holland America, again BJ's Travel did not help to fix the problems! Holland did all the work. All excursions were booked through Holland, again BJ's Travel did not help to fix the problems! Hotels on both ends were booked by me, again BJ's Travel did not help to book the hotels!

This rates among one of the best cruises ever! It was our second Holland cruise to Alaska, and our favorite!
