Review summary

We purchased an engagement ring at Effy Jewelry onboard the ship. The same guy who sold us the ring made a pass at my fiancé. Without getting into too much detail, she was bothered over the incident and didn’t eat and was bothered that night too. She told me about the incident the next day. Needless to say, I was taken back that the very guy who sold us the engagement ring made a pass at my fiancé. What should have been a memorable experience now has a stain on it. I did file a complaint with Effy and Holland America. Hopefully this gets resolved in a proper way. The nerve of this guy who sold us the engagement ring and then makes a pass at the same woman who just got engaged. I’m having a hard time getting past it.

Effy Jewelry apparently is ok with sales people who hit on their customers. Yup, he still gets to keep his job. His name is Milan P and works on board a Holland America cruise ship. Be cautious!

@ PrinceNamor - I was actually completing the payment process in their conference room at the time. My fiancé went back to the room to get ready for a beautiful dinner we planned. This guy followed her to the elevator and harassed her there while I was finalizing payment. They’re other details too long to describe here.

Soooooo you still purchase the ring? Sound like the whole story isn't told. Where were you when the ring was being purchased? Where were you when the sales person was giving your wife compliments? But you and the wife still have the ring. Everyday she looks at that ring the wife will think of the sales guy and not you. Something just doesn't add up.

Cruise employees will tell you that doing anything inappropriate with a guest will immediately get them ejected from the ship. She should feel better knowing that the matter was reported and that they take matters like that very seriously

My bad. I missed it was on the ship itself. Good thing you reported it. But still, put it behind you and enjoy your lives together. Don't let the person rent space in your heads. It's not worth it.

Congrats on your engagement. Obviously HAL has nothing to with a jewelry vendor at a port. While it is unprofessional for the employee to do such a thing, it happens. My wife has been hit on several times. Don't let it ruin your cruise or your memories. You will never see that person again.
