Time at coco cay alone made the trip enjoyable. Loved spending time with the familia in a safe and fun environment.
Ship was less spectacular than advertised and Nassau was not ideal for young kids.
Embarkation

Embarkation was speedy, easy and efficient
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The food quality in the main dining room was less impressive than on other lines including Holland, Carnival, and other sailings on Royal. Service was slow in the main dining room. The staff did not seem to know about or know how to execute the expedited dining plan for children.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We chose this ship for the variety of activities that it offered. However information about the open hours/ availability of things like the water slides, ice rink and other activities were hard to find. We ended up not being able to participate in many of the activities that we booked on this ship for.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
The shows in general were bland, boaring poorly marketed. The only show we went to and stayed through was a comedy magic show.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
The staff in the kids club seemed nice, caring, and qualified. However, staff that monitored other kid related areas around ship were rude. For example there was a kids splash pad near the pool. Despite no rule saying this, the attendant/life guard would not let our 3 year old and 6month old child play together. The attendant insisted they play in separate splash pads due to age/ potty training. Again, our wait staff did not seem aware of of the kids expeditor s dining process. This was one of the main reasons we chose to cruise Royal. In the future when we book a different cruise line we will just ask for kids food to come ASAP and take out kids to the camp on our own (replicating what was supposed to be offered by Royal).
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Wait staff was very nice. Our assistant waiter was amazing with the kids, and was very personable (he had not effect on the delays with out dining). Our steward was a great communicator, helped clean up a mess from our kids and made spectacular towel animals. The hand washing crew in the main buffet was jubilant and had a great way of singing songs politely to coerce cruisers to wash their hands before ending to the buffet hall.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ships as well designed. It felt modern though it was 20 years old. Through this boat was the biggest I have been on it did not seem too big. The featured activities on board were oversold in marketing though. Thinks like the flow rider, water slides, and ice rink were only available limited hours during the cruise.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Not an exceptionally large unit but did fit 4 guests comfortably (2 adults, 2 children). The fold out couch/ bed was not very soft and a Pullman mattress would have been better. We had a conjoining room that connected both in room and on the balcony. Our group loved the conjoined rooms. The conjoined balcony was a bit flawed as the unlocked covered could not be secured once unlocked and swung around when the ship was cruising. The divider also blocked the view and sliding door of one of our units when it was open.
Ship tip
Don’t pay a premium to book this ship for the benefit of kids. This cruise did stop at Perfect Day Coco Cay which was amazing for everyone (both days we were there).
So much to do here, Even with two day stops here. The kids could use the expansive splash pad, use slides, and play in shallow pools. There were carribean themed shops to explore and adult bars and pools. We played beach volleyball with other guests and paid to use the water park one of the days. The water park was entertaining with its many slides and unique but small wave pool. There was abundant shade and beach furniture available for free.
Not the best for a young family. I forgot how much the Bahamians hurrays you to buy their goods or services. We elected to not go to Paradise Island/ Atlantis and only chose to be of the ship for a few hours due to the constant harassment to do or buy something from a Bahamian.
Easy enough to cary all of baggage with 5 kids and still exit the ship and security easily. If you have a passport there was no line to go through customs. Facial recognition validated your identity even without presenting your passport.
