This was our first time on RC and I'd do it again but probably choose another ship.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarking was easy. We were in a junior suite which allowed us into a faster line. However, the person responsible for telling you which line to enter initially guided us to the wrong line. I saw the suite sign and decided to check it out and it was where we were supposed to be.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
The food was excellent overall. We at two of the signature restaurants - the Chop House and the Italian restaurant. Both meals and service were great. Otherwise we ate at the buffet. Good food. I only wish there was more fruit (in general).
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
We did rock-climbing, ice skating, shopping, mini-golf, shuffleboard, and the pools. While all of them were great, the boat was really missing a slide feature. Our 8 year old missed that part of this cruise.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
This was one of two disappointing elements. The stage shows were not very good. The Journey band was excellent, but the musical/dancing reviews were only okay. The timing of the shows with the dinner times was also awkward.
Children's Programs
2 out of 5
I did not like them, for a few reasons. Our daughter is 8. The room they were in was just under the sport court so when we first checked it out all you could hear was booming from above. The room had a short ceiling and did not see particularly inviting. It was also only accessible by going through the video arcade - which was incredibly noisy. Finally, my daughter complained that every time she went they ended up playing the same game. Very disappointing.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Excellent service from the staff overall. However, maybe not as friendly (overall) as some other ships.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was very well maintained and clean.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had a junior suite with a balcony. GREAT!!! It even had a walk-in closet so we were not stumbling over suitcases the whole trip. It is completely worth the nominal extra expense.
Ship tip
Maybe not for the little ones. Spend the extra money on a Disney cruise or one of the new ships that might better cater to small kids.
We sail on the navigator in november but have already sailed on her sister ship, the Adventure. The Adventure had a childrens pool area behind the kids club. It took us a couple of days to find it. The club being under the sports court was a bit off putting at first but even my ASD son didnt care as long as he got to play in the club. Its a shame your daughter didnt enjoy it as much as she should have. Maybe try the oasis or allure. We found that class has alot more for kids. X
