Review summary

My wife fell and fracture her arm and shoulder before we even pulled into San Juan. She was treated with only a couple days pain pills and a sling. She spent the whole trip in her room. No one from the cruise ship called or visited to see how she was doing or if there was anything they could do to help her. The only person who helped and showed concern was the stateroom person. He provided ice all the time day and night for her srm and shoulder and gave her an extra pillow and blanket for her to use (she slept -when she could- sitting on the couch with her legs and feet resting on a chair.  In the room I was in with my cousin (my wife shared a room with our niece) we were directly over a pub and the noise and music was very loud until about 1:00 AM.  We were also told we would get first off with thew help of a wheelchair, none of this happened. Their was a blonde (english) who was at the exit lounge were we were told to meet for departinng and we explained what was told to us, she was extremely RUDE and obnoxious. She kept telling us it was not her fault my wife fell. This whole trip was a nightmare.

That is a bit strange to hear, I was on the same trip and we got to Puerto Rico one hour earlier because of a medical issue with one of the passengers. If it was me I would have gotten medical treatment in Puerto Rico.

Sorry you had a bad cruise. I would have given it one star.

I don't think the noise from the pub is something you can blame RCI for, surely when you booked you should have checked the location of your cabin using the deck plans? I certainly do whenever I book.

A few years back I broke my leg on Carnival Dream, 2nd day of a 7 day cruise. Same thing...never got a call from guest services, no one seemed to care. I was bound and determined to make the best of our trip so I only took Advil for pain so I wouldn't sleep the whole cruise away on pain pills. My husband and son wheeled me around in my wheelchair, even on the beach. No easy task I'm sure. Still had a great time and I have such a great story to tell.

I would have gotten medical treatment in Puerto Rico. Ship's infirmary isn't an ER. We had a friend break his arm on the same ship on the last day. If it had happened earlier they would have gotten medical care on one of the islands. They did get a wheelchair off the ship but his wife went to guest services to arrange it.

That's terrible to hear. Stinks her cruise was ruined......

Wow, I'm suprised you gave it 3 stars. I wonder though, if you had asked for assistance if your experience would have been different? There is also the option to disembark to seek medical help - San Juan would have been a good choice assuming you are from the US.
