Having having cruised 7 times before\, and on this same ship 15 years earlier\, I was worried the ship would be dated. It was not! I was very pleased. We had a jr. suite and the room was very nice. The staff was excellent and very professional.

The food was well above average and the other guests were friendly and fun to be around. This trip was in late Sept/early Oct so there were not a lot of children\, but we enjoyed the ones onboard. Their parents as a whole were more professional type people as opposed to a Carnival Cruise with out-of-control gangs of drunk kids.

The check-in at Rome Civittechia was quick. The costs to get to the port were extremely high EUR120 or USD170 for a taxi. The cruise ship costs was $84 per person\, so a private taxi was cheaper.
